Because the heaven was hot.

Hine think the tuna was a demon.
Who is Hine married to?
hine is married to Maui.
When the villagers catch Tuna what happens to him?
They cut him in to pieces and throw him in to the sea.
What does this ‘creation story’ explain?
It explain how the tuna comes to earth and how it dies.
In your opinion, why is it important that we learn about local Māori stories?
Maybe it helps you sometimes.
If we don’t have the opportunity to learn Māori history in school what could happen?
You don’t know anything about Maori story.
