Writing a Recount
We did a special writing today.
Whaea Anne explained, we are going to write all by ourselves today. We are to try our best.

We talked about our school BBQ evening and our swimming lessons.
It was hard to write by ourselves, and we did it!! We tried our best.
Today, our school was fundraising for the families that have been effected by cyclone Gabrielle.
We all dressed in black and white and brought a gold coin donation.
We are thinking of all the people, families and school that have been effected by cyclone Gabrielle in coastal communities on the far north and east coast of the North Island – with areas like Hawke’s Bay, Coromandel and Northland among the worst hit.
