What is the Day of the Dead?

 

It is a day that happens every year where 

 

you remember those you have lost like 

 

relatives that have passed away.

 

How is it celebrated? 

 

You put up their photos with candles 

 

with a path of pedicles leading to their 

 

graves and the whole family gets 

 

together with food, music and 

 

celebrates the life they had. 

When is it celebrated? Thu 2 Nov  

Where did it originate from?  

Mexico but goes back to the Aztecs.

 Where is it celebrated? 

It is celebrated at the graves of their loved ones.Why is it important? It is important  to remember the life they lived and to not forget them.

What is another name for it? El Dia de los Muertos

Interesting Facts  Day of the Dead combines the ancient Aztec custom of celebrating ancestors with All Souls’ Day, a holiday that Spanish invaders brought to Mexico starting in the early 1500s. The holiday, which is celebrated mostly in Mexico on November 1 and 2, is like a family reunion—except dead ancestors are the 

 

guests of honor.
