FACKTS – Social Studies

Kamusta bloggers, for today’s blog I will be talking about FACKTS. You might be wondering what FACKTS is?

F – Frame

A – Arrow

C – Colour

K – Key

T – Title

S – Scale

FACKTS are basically what you need in a map. We need all of this in a map so people can actually understand how the map works. Here is an example of a map.

It’s not very clear but as you can see there are keys on the side of the map and it is also applied on the actual land. You can tell that the green is the land/grass or as it says on the keys it resembles a forest. And the yellow is grazing.

Not all of the maps have colour but if it does have colour it makes it more clear on what it is. From this lesson on FACKTS I learned that maps have many parts to it. And it’s actually very interesting to learn about maps so if you need to use a map you know how to. Maps help many people navigate themselves when they’re high up in the mountains or a forest or anywhere without internet.

Thats all for this blog and I encourage you to learn more about maps because its helpful in an emergency.
