Rock Climbing
On the 13th of May, me and some of the girls in my class went rock climbing with the polytech. We had to get to school early so we could get out to Charleston earlier. I wasn’t nervous about going rock climbing because I thought it would be like climbing a tree, right? I got in the van and sat next to Cassidy and Jayla. When we got to the polytech we introduced another person by saying 3 things about them. Cassidy introduced me and I introduced Emily. Once we went around the circle we got to know the polytech students. Olivia, Courtney, Tom, Antony, and Jock. Tom was definitely my favourite.
When we were in the van to Charleston I sat next to Cassidy and we were talking loud until Jayla and Cassidy started breaking out into a singing routine. Zara ended up throwing up 15 minutes before we got there. She was holding it in her mouth, that was the worst part. When we got there we played the game BUMP. Then we put the harnesses on and then our helmets. It took a while to get mine right, Cassidy was pulling it down my head, I got huge marks after. We walked up this prickly, and muddy track. When we got to this grassy patch my group made its way up to the abseiling spot. We did a practice run with Tom and Olivia. I got scared but I did it and it felt good to have done it down a small hill. But I refused to do it down the cliff. Cassidy was telling me its fun and I believed her, I was going to do it but I got too scared. I felt upset at myself but I didn’t feel comfortable.
We had a little snack break then we headed over to the rock climbing spot. This was much funner than the abseiling in my opinion. I went on the easy one and I got just under half way. We only got to go once but I’m glad I actually got the chance to do it. After everyone had their turn we went back to our eating spot and watched the abseilers finish going down the cliff.
We walked through the prickly, and muddy bush for the second time to get back to the start. We got into the van and drove back to the school. I was glad that Zara didn’t throw again.
