Learning About NZ Heroes, Matariki, and Illusions

Hello World                                                                                                                                                        I will be sharing what I’ve been doing lately. In class, I learned about some inspiring people like Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, who climbed Mount Everest. I also learned about Maurice Gee, a famous New Zealand writer, and Sir ‘Bom’ Gillies who was in WW2. We also learned about Matariki, the Māori New Year. It’s a special time to remember the past,  and start new.

Maurice Gee:  Maurice Gee Was a NZ writer who unfortunately died when he was 93 in 2025 . And this is my link to my DLO

Sir ‘Bom’ Gilles was a solder who fought in WW2 , he unfortunately died in 7 November 2024 (aged 99) and died peacefully in Rotorua.

Matariki is the Maori name for a cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades. The word “Matariki” can be broken down into Mata—which means eyes. Ariki—which means chief or god

25.Passion projectFor my passion project I wrote about. An illusion tricks your brain into seeing or believing something that isn’t really true or real.
