Today Matua Richard visited kotare for our inquiry, te moana.

We were learning about shorebird new Zealand’s shorebirds are not doing well.They have lots of predators and humans are damaging their habitats.

Baby shorebirds have to get their food themselves from the moment they hatch.Their eggs are camouflaged and their nests are not protected.

We got to design and build our own shorebird nests.

So I dug a hole got sharp sticks and put it around the nest where the eggs were to protect it.
