My first foray into a Shakespearian play!

This week in Humanities (Shakespeare). we have started reading Mid summers night dream a play written by Shakespeare and often preformed on stage. We started off by reading the children’s version of the play, we then started vulnerating for parts to play.

We read act 1 in our prospective parts. In my personal opinion I’ve heard these words before so for me there was little to none new language, I actually quite enjoyed reading it though I probably wouldn’t do it again.

I think by reading Mid summers Night dream, its a good way to gain confidence reading out loud, also to learn new writing styles and words. I would say I learnt more about how Shakespeare as a writer, I’d say Miss. Lees though of this when bringing up the idea.

Upon reflection reading in front of the class was not the worst thing, in all honesty I was getting pretty annoyed when Miss. Lees kept on talking (don’t come for me Miss) I also wasn’t very patient when others were speaking and read ahead so I’m not sure reading with other people is my thing.

I’m looking forward to reading more of the play and getting to the main plot, also getting to hear people I haven’t heard read say their lines.
