hello people today I will be giving 5 definitions of 5 different words.
DNA- DNA is a thing that everyone has and it is how you are identified its in your hair, nails, fingers and all over you, there are four types of repeating nucleotide bases in DNA which connects specifically. A (adenine) always goes with T (thymine), C (cytosine) always goes with G (guanine).
Gene- gene is something that you get from you parents, genes decide your appearance. genes are also a section of DNA which codes for different traits that you have for example: if your parents have brown eyes you are bound to have brown eyes.
Inherit- inherit is what you get from you parents like your eye colour, hair type/colour. all of that is because it got passed down from your parents to you. us humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes most of them are passed down from each parent.
Punnet squares- they are used to show what different traits/genes that you could get, traits are not usually controlled by whole chromosomes but by genes.
Allele- they are different forms of the same gene and example is blonde hair or brown hair. the alleles can be dominant or recessive, dominant alleles only show up in living things that inherit them. but recessive alleles then they will only show up in if the living thing doesn’t have any dominant alleles.
