During the first week of the term, we had a few small jobs to finish, the main job was finishing off our trenches. During this job we had to dig our trenches to allow better water flow down the hill, lay scoria down in a thin layer to line the trench, cover our piping with a cloth so no silt can get in and the final job was to cover it with the rest of the scoria, leaving a flush clean looking surface. This project was fun to do. Each of the steps allowed us to learn something new. The main learning curve was how to use a wheelbarrow properly and effectively. Because we were working on a hill you had to be very careful how and where you placed the heavy wheelbarrows so you didn’t lose all the rock.
