- Identify the different ingredients you used to create colour and how did it enhance the overall appearance of your burger? Ketchup, Chilli flakes, Siracha, Mayo, Lettuce, Tomato. It made it look appetizing with all the different colours.
- What ingredients did you include in your burger to create texture and what was the effect on the product as you ate it? The panko bread crumbs, it gave more of a crunch to the burger. We used tomato and it was soft and chewy. The green frilly lettuce gave a very light crunch and enhanced the taste and texture as it balances out the other flavours.
- Name two different ingredients you used to enhance the flavour of your meat pattie. We used honey and ketchup to give it that hot honey burger style
- Explain why you used these flavours? Eg pairing that goes together like mustard and hot dogs. To make a unique pairing that isn’t normally used.
- What were you hoping the people eating your burger to experience – think sensory words. To them to bite into the bun and it was soft then the light crunch from the lettuce and softness of the tomato, then the light chewy crunch from the patty. Hoping to be tasting the sweetness from the burger and spicyness from the sauce
- What were your successes with your final presentation? It came out how we planned, and that our time managment was good and we got everything right
- If you were to do this practical again what changes would you make if you had no restrictions. Add more filler ingredients, like caramalised onions, and experiment with more ingredients.
