Why did we do this experiment? What science are we doing?]
We did this experiment to experiment weight, drag, air resistance and to counteract the pull of gravity. By slowing the eggs descends by the help of our parachute that we made, it drastically reduces the velocity and resulting force of impact when the egg hits the ground.
What was our method?
1st step.) We first planned our contraption together on a paper.
2nd step.) After the planning we started on our build.
3rd step.) We got a cup and poke holes on it.
4th step.) We attached strings to the cup through the holes and tied the strings to a plastic bag for drag,
5th step.) The drop.
In the drop, our egg fortunately survived the drop off the balcony, some of the other groups parachute didn’t. Our parachute had a slow drop than everyone else except one group, our egg dropped in about only a second, the other group’s parachute fell faster since they did not try adding any drag to their design giving them a faster drop making their egg not survive.
