Our amazing class, Te Kopa Tūī, recently had an incredible and deeply eye-opening trip to Owae Marae. We spent our day diving into the rich, complex, and fascinating history of one of Taranaki’s most prominent historical figures: Sir Māui Pōmare. This year marks the 90th of commeration for Sir Māui Pōmare. On the 27th of June, hundreds of people are expected to gather, remember and honour his legacy.
