The Proud Firefly and the Wise Owl

One warm summer evening, a little firefly named Flick loved showing off his bright light. Every night he flew around the forest saying, “Look how brightly I shine! I must be the most important creature here.”

The other animals grew tired of hearing him boast, but Flick never listened.

One night, a thick fog covered the forest. Flick’s tiny light could barely shine through it. He became frightened and lost his way.

Just then, an old owl named Olive quietly glided down from a tall oak tree.

“Follow my voice,” the owl called gently. “I know these woods well.”

Flick followed the owl’s calm hoots until they reached a safe clearing. The fog slowly disappeared, and the stars began to sparkle again.

“I’m sorry,” Flick said. “I thought my bright light meant I could do everything by myself.”

The owl smiled kindly. “Everyone has a special gift. Your light is wonderful, but wisdom, kindness, and helping others are just as important.”

From that night on, Flick used his light to guide lost animals home instead of showing off. Soon, all the creatures were happy whenever they saw his warm glow.
