Task description: This week I have read page 5 of the ”Rise of the Mau Movement” book. in the document below I have written a summary of this page. It was mainly about Samoa trying to gain independence from the NZ and European ministry
When I first read the text me and my group couldn’t clearly understand the message that was being sent. Though once I started reading more thoroughly, I finally saw the point of this text. I wrote a summary for each paragraph I read yesterday. This was only for further understanding of the text and also helped me analyse the text much easier than I usually would. After that I made an overall summary of what I read yesterday in a paragraph which was 1-4 sentences approximately.
I learned more about how to summarise and put it into my own words due to the fact that I used to not be so confident in my summarising skills. I also admire the language features of this text; as it includes realistic and honest features of opposition and disagreements which last until today.
