Daylighting Stream’s
One day there was a Taniwha named Kora living in the Waitara River. It was so peaceful all Kora could hear was the mānu, this was before humans came. Kora was happy with the peace and quiet underneath the Waitara bridge, but then all of a sudden Kora heard something and it wasn’t the mānu it was something Kora had never heard before, Kora had a feeling that humans had arrived and broke the peace and quiet. A few days later Kora overheard a few people named Elena, Leighla, Josh, Jack, and Lily talking about piping streams around Waitara and that made Kora angry but on top of that they were destroying most of the animals habitats. What the people didn’t notice was that Kora could read minds and she knew what their next step was going to be. Those people were planning on inviting all of their friends and whanau to Waitara to live there, and then Waitara’s population grew, then everyone started having fun and jumping off the bridge and into the Waitara river and Kora had to hide when they jumped off the bridge or everyone would spread rumours about a Taniwha called Kora.That won’t happen, said Kora and that never happened and to this day Kora still lives under the bridge and is still a bit angry about the streams, but Kora is getting a little less angry every day because people are talking about daylighting streams, and people looking after streams that need looking after.
