Hello students.
WALT: Understand why isolated evolution created unque endemic birds, and why flightlessness became a liability when mammilian predators arrived.
This week for inquiry we have been learning about birds becoming flightless. Before the lesson started I thought that flightlessness was bad but at the end of the lesson I learnt that without flying,they spent more time on the ground. Running all the time gave them extra strong legs as they did not need to worry about strong wings. But this was before mammalian predators arrived. If birds like the kiwi could still fly rats would not be able to get them as rats cannot fly.
My task was to make a poster about the native birds and predators. It was named Invaders vs Locals.
Personally I feel bad for the predators cause if it wasn’t for humans they would have been living in peace and same with birds.
I did it on paper.
