This week we have been learning about parihaka. Pariaka was invaded by the European troops on Novemper 5th 1881.Parihaka was a peaceful settlement that was led by Te Whiti o Rangomai and Tohu kakahi. They wthe ere both from Taranaki. After the settlement Act they occupied some confiscated land and created a the parihaka settlement that is there today.
