Your mum is driving you to your race
your guts twist like a tea towel
you hear TAKE YOUR MARKS
then the loudest beep you have heard
you are sitting on the bench
your heart pounding against your chest
the seat feeling like a wooden block
Then you put your cap on with your goggles
they strap on tight like a rope
then you see it 100M race
thats you
you walk with your competitors
you step on the block
TAKE YOUR MARKS
BEEP.
Your heart drops
but you go in with more energy then a kangaroo
water everywhere like a stormy sea
your doing butterfly the hardest style
one lap done thats 25M
you feel amazed
next is breaststroke
you frog kick with all your might but its so slow
after what felt like 10 minutes you get to lap 2
50M
you’re half way
Your head is pumping blood you can feel it in your ears
Next, is backstroke
75m
The last lap is freestyle
100m done.
You get out of the pool victorious
Mussels sore, so tired
but then your mum and dad are there
you go home
dad makes you fav dinner
you eat like a hippo
you fall asleep in your bed like a sloth
That’s your race day done.
this is my poem we learnt about all the meterfors and the words that drags the reader it read it so I hope you get to this part ok bye
