This week for inquiry’ we have been learning about wakas. We worked in teams I was working with Oliva and Alira. We made our boats with chopsticks ice cream sticks sticks straws and flaxs.
We used the straws for the flags the chopsticks were for the paddles we also used the sticks for the deck and we also used flaxs. we glued all the pieces together.
The reason we did this was because we were learning about wakas and how maori people traveled on wakas and how they discovered New zealand.
On Monday, we lined up in groups and each group went on at a time when we went to the pool I placed our teams waka down in the pool when I placed it the waka floated. I really liked making the waka.
