On Friday and Saturday 5th and 6th of April Ohaeawai school did a Wheel-a-hon  to raise money for the year 5&6 ski trip in September 2024 . This graft shows how much  coins we got from the little kids and grandparents. All of these coin in total is $89.50.

For reading we are doing extended discussions that we have to talk about the book we are reading and agree with others.

On Friday I stayed at home with Violet and my mum because I was sick.

I played on the xbox with Violet on the goat simulator 3. 

I  had a girl goat with white toilet paper shoes. My goat had a blankie on her back, I think. 

In the game, it had a farm and a town. In the game, you could drive cars and get money. The goat head butts the ATM and the money comes out. Then you can buy things for the goat. 

The game made me feel happy playing it. I had fun.

Dino Show  

Wooohhhhhhhhhooooo! On Saturday and Sunday the Dino Show was on at the showgrounds in Kaikohe. My little brother and I told our mum about it. Boom! Right away she said yes, so my brother and me  got ready. I pulled my pants on and slid into my t-shirt. My mum said, “well if you 3 are going it has to be on Sunday.” 6 hours later it was time to put on my PJs. 

Yessssss it was the day of the Dino Show. Finally we were there. We got tokens for rides.  As we were walking in, a dino roared at me!!!!!. After the dino walked off back inside we explored more. My mum wanted me to win something. There was a game where you had to get all 3 balls in the 2 dinos. I played but I only got 1 in so I got a small toy. Then I went to the dino where you could ride it. I gave the man my token. Weee!! It felt like riding a wave.  Swish whhhoooow! Up and down like a roller coaster.  I never wanted the ride to end. It was a little scary because it went forward and backwards. It was fun. Suddenly we stumbled on a dark tent with flashing lights. There was a sign that said, ‘chip a dino and keep it or build a dino and keep it.’  I wanted to chip a dino. There was a little tray that you had to chip the dino on. We got popcorn and candy floss then we went home. 

It was so much fun.

The Wheel-a-thon

Yipee! It was the day of the wheel-a-thon at Ohaeawai School. We were having a wheel-a-thon to raise money for our Year 5 and 6 ski trip. 

It started with the junior school riding laps for gold coins at the end of school. When the seniors started at five o’clock there was food like sausages and ice blocks. The parents had started to do their stationary bike race. Music was pumping.

Finally it was 5.30pm. Peter, Mickael and I got on the bikes. Zoom we were off. We versed each other. We did our best. Mickael and I got the same laps after we finished and Peter got less than us.

It was Peter, Mickael and my turn again at nine o’clock.  Mickael and I overlapped Peter.  After we had finished Mickael and I got a sausage. Then we went home.

I had a great time at the Wheel-a-thon.

The Wheel-a-thon

Yeah!! Friday afternoon the whole school got the bikes out of the bike shed ready for the Wheel-a-thon to raise money for the Ski Trip. The juniors got ready to ride their bikes. 1, 2, 3 go!!. I got to ride too.

Boom! The year 5 and 6’s started riding at 5pm. Then the toddlers got a turn. They were off like a rocket ship. GO!! GO!! The toddlers did so well and all the people were cheering for them. 

Next it was the parents’ time to ride. Careeva and I got to ride with the parents. The race was about to start. I was scared. I  have never ever ridden a bike at school. 123 GO!! I went so fast. Zooming past all the people. After I finished, I was so so hot. We ran under the light and we played Marco Polo. It was fun. My two sisters and I played Marco Polo.

Finally it was time to go home. I went to get a drink to share. It was a white caramel milkshake. Mum, Maddy, Bella and I went home because dad was making a fire in the fireplace. I was cold in the car. When we got home I had a shower and some dinner. I went to sleep and it was nice.

I had a great day that day.

The Wheel-a-thon

Yay! On Friday it was the Wheel a thon for the year 5 and 6s. The year 5 and 6s had to ride around the track at school to raise money for the ski trip.

The day started with the juniors riding the bikes around the track for gold coins. I had to ride around the track two times. When I jumped off the bike my legs felt like they were about to fall off.

It started at 5pm. Taysia went back to school at 5.30pm for her race.  My mum stayed for a little bit and then my dad went. She did 34 laps. There were heaps of food like sausages, drinks, cakes, buns and ice blocks. My sister had so much fun. She stayed at school that night.

I can’t wait until I do the Wheel-a-thon.

The Wheel-a-thon

Yeehaa! It was Friday. The whole school did a wheel-a-thon to raise money to go to the ski trip.  My group started at 6:15pm. My next time was at 9:45. We were fundraising to go to the snow. We rode around our bike track. It was very cold at 6:15pm and at 9:45pm.

My group was Abi, Amaia, Andrew and me. Andrew was very fast. Andew flew past everyone. After our group was finished Andrew left to go back home. After all of the groups were finished everyone went to sleep but first everyone had to set up their beds. After they finished setting up their beds they went to sleep.

The next morning, the teachers woke us up at 6:00am to have some breakfast. If we didn’t have money we had to have weetbix and if we did have money we could have bacon and eggs. I had weetbix first because my mum wasn’t there yet. When my mum got to the school she got Abi and me some bacon and eggs. After Abi and I had our bacon and eggs we went to play Marco Polo. In the middle of Marco Polo it was our turn to go around the bike track. Andrew wasn’t there so it was just Abi, Amaia and me. Amaia’s mum was counting the laps so she had to say, “on your marks, get set go.” Abi, Amaia and I went around the bike track. I passed Abi then I passed Amaia. I was in the front. I did a lap every 1 minute. After I finished my fourteen laps I buyed another bacon and egg sandwich and it was $3. It was yummy. After I finished having my bacon and egg sandwich I went home and I watched some TV.

I had a good day because I got to ride a lap every minute. I hope we make lots of money.

Wheel-a-thon

YAY! It was the 5th of April and Ohaeawai Primary School was hosting a wheel-a-thon. The whole school helped with raising money for the ski trip by biking laps of the bike track.

First I was riding with Harley, Nate and Dan. I rode at 7.45pm and it was a little dark. Dan was fast but I was still in front  doing lots of laps for the money. My legs were like jelly wobbling. Then I was riding with Hawaiki,Clayton and Sioeli at 10.00pm. It was extremely dark. I thought it may be a bit dangerous but the bright lights shined. I was in front again but I got winded. So Hawaiki won. It really hurt but I knew I was going to be OK in the morning. My family and my mum’s friends did the stationary bikes. They were really good. I had a go. After each go you did, you got a treat. The sausage sizzles were really good. I got a chocolate frappe as well. The music was really good too.

After I did my night riding I went to bed. Toni flicked the light on and I groaned. The last ride was in the morning. I was riding with Hawaiki, Clayton and Sioeli again at 7.30am. It was pretty light. This time I was in the lead and I did it. Then I packed away all my stuff and Jordan picked me up.

After all, I felt happy and it was really fun. I enjoyed it.
