What are the effects of Cannabis on the brain (on teenagers)?
It affects it worse than an already developed brain–adult– and have long term bad effects. Anxiety, loss of memory, loss of motivation, etc. are probable effects of using drug regularly. This could result in brain damage and may cause bad decisions both short term and long term. You do not get over the effects even when you get older. Cannabis causes cancer much like tobacco smoking. Use of cannabis can lead to the development of mental health problems. We need strong brain circuits, especially teenagers. The strongest circuits are such, motivation, learning and mood.
Endocannabinoid system, fine tunes the circuits correctly and the connected in the best way possibly. We produce anandamides, that helps the endocannabinoid to function correctly. Cannabis is similar to anandamide, however the consumption cannabis overloads the endocannabinoid. This is like putting a cup of salt with your chips than a a few pinch.
This could result in the strongest circuits, motivation, learning and mood to falter greatly; making it much more difficult to make better decisions.
