This week, my class and I wrote a story about our pets. They are real pets from our house. My pet is a dog. He is a husky, and his name is Buffy. He has sharp, pointed ears with light blue eyes and a small button nose. He is dark grey and white in colour.  Here is my story below

English holiday
During the holidays, I went to Auckland to see my cousin. We went to Ōtara, and we didn’t do anything there.Almost two weeks later, we went to see some of our other relatives on Lincoln Road. When I arrived, we went to the playground. Then we jumped around on scooters and bikes. We saw a bird, and then Eathen told us that the bird was attacking us. We tried to kick it away, but the bird chased us and pecked us with its beak!After that, we didn’t do anything else exciting.One week later, we went to Chevy Lay’s birthday party, but we had to go back home.Then we went to the Copthorne in Pāhia. We did manu jumps into the swimming pool. After that, we ate some really huge mussels that were bigger than your hand! Then we jumped in and out of the swimming pool. Later, we played tennis on the tennis court.Finally, we went back home and ate a big feeed to finish off our holidays.

Today we had to make panakeke (pancakes) using Te Reo Māori. It was a fun and funny experience because we got to work together, learn new words, and make something delicious at the same time. I really enjoyed working with the people I was put into a group with. We all had a good laugh, even though we argued and fought a little bit over who was going to do what. Sometimes we disagreed on how to make the panakeke, but we still worked together and got the job done. It was a great experience because we got to learn new things while having fun with our friends. Overall, I enjoyed the activity, and it taught me that teamwork matters, even when things don’t go perfectly. I would love to do another activity like this again because it was a fun way to learn Te Reo Māori while spending time with others.

Yesterday the whole school went to the movies and the park; we watched Forgotten Island. It was such a cool movie, and my favorite person in it was the big blue baby that was 200 years old. And even all the little kids liked the movie.

After the movie, we went to the park to have pizza and some drinks, and after we all ate, we were allowed to go play in the park. All the seniors played on the half pipe, and we would just slide down it like a slide, and some people were even going down on their bellies.

After we had to go home, we just got to have free time for the last 20 minutes before the school ended, and we just played some handball together

This term, we have created a family tree using Google Slides. We did our mother’s parents and our dad’s parents, and we did our grandparents and our pepeha, and we did our parent- either our mum’s or dads one i did both my parents’ parents and their pepeha.

This week, my class has been working on our whakapapa; a whakapapa is basically a family tree.

We have been working on our whakapapa all week.

First, we had to draw our whakapapa and whanau tree on a big piece of paper.

Then we had to go to our drive and make a slide.

After that, we had to blog about it.

This is the whakapapa that I made about my family.

My whakapapa can be an example for you, so you can try to make a whakapapa too.

Last week, we were learning what your family tree is and what your whakapapa is

First, we had to write down our pepeha and our mum and dad’s parents if you did not know them, you just had to say your mum and dad. Then you write down your siblings

Next, you had to record yourself saying your siblings, your mum’s mum and dad, then your dad’s mum and dad
