OLYMPIC KNOWLEDGE WORK
For the last 3 days we have been learning about the Olympics and answering questions that we were given by our teacher for our integrated learning. I used article links our teacher has given and got some information from the internet. Take a look at the slides I made and tell me what I could do more about it. For me the Olympics is a really interesting and fun topic to learn about. If you have read my slides answer my questions that I wrote below to tell me what you learnt.
Do you know what stadium the 1980 Olympics took place in ?
Where was the first modern Olympics held ?
Estimate.
This week me and my Maths class has be learning how to Estimate and accurately measure length.
– 1 cm = 10 cm
– kilo means 1000
– when measuring with a ruler it is important to start at 0
Science Marshmallow Animation
For 2 periods, my class and I have been working on making a Marshmallow Cannon Animation. Before that, we tried it out first. We had to cut the top of the balloon in the middle using scissors. Then we wrapped it around a kitchen roll. After that, we then got a dried marshmallow and put it inside our cannons. Once all of that was done, our whole class went outside to test it out and try and aim it inside of a bucket.
It was fun doing that, but for the next 2 periods, we worked on our Marshmallow Cannon Animation, explaining how to make it and what energy is being used.

Firefighters
Hi today we had firefighters come to Hornby Primary School and it was so cool. We all had to line up to climb in the truck and use the hose. In the truck we got to sit on the seats. The hose was so easy to use, My favorite part was getting their signature. Their names are Mike 1, Mike 2, Jeff and Danny.
Seeing a firetruck (also seeing the inside)
Today, we got to see the inside of the truck, and the outside of the truck. The outside of the truck had crates that had materials to use for both fire and emergencies. The most fun part was when we got to try the water hose. The first thing we did was check the inside of the firetruck. I even heard someone talking on the radio. The firetruck was huge because when I went inside of the front of the firetruck, it felt so high. This is the photo that the teacher took.
Equestrian racing

Potato Potato Potato Potato OLYMPICS!
UUUUUUUUUUUUM! So I did win the potato olympic Dance off. I did have a really round potato wich is why properly i winned so yeah. Who cares if I winBecauseWinning just is junk. I did get nervous. How about let’s just say I got nervous and It was fun.It didn’t really matter if I win though It just means my potato gets a crown. Which I am going to make at home. My highest score was 6.91. My friend Ava came first in one of her groups I think. But she wasn’t on the score board.Are next event is potato Darts.

Today my class and I picked a famous landmark in Paris, I chose the Louvre museum. I would go here because it has lots of cool artwork and I would really like to see the Mon Alisa. Below is the DLO.

for my week 1 & 2 create task one we get to take the main ideas from the journal we are reading and put into a DLO [digital learning object] since the summer sports are coming up our theme of books are around our olympics, I chose a book about wheelchair rugby, I chose to use pixton which is an website where you can make a comic, so here is my pixton comic.
I really enjoyed this create task it was simple and easy to do, I would do this task again.

for my week 1 & 2 task two we get to choose a DLO to show a problem that could occur training from the olympics I chose to do one on pixton, it’s about a woman who broke her leg training for the Olympics.
again, I loved doing this create task it was pretty easy I would have done one about wheelchair rugby but they don’t have wheelchairs in pixton that the charecter’s could sit on.

for weeks 1 & 2 create task three much like create task 2 I chose to do a create task on things to do to prepare for winter sports, for mine I used Popplet for my DLO ,here is my work.
I don’t normally use Popplet but I didn’t mind it it was easy and simple there was not much to it.

it was hard not to use the same word multiple times but I liked this fast finishers task

for my Fast finishers task 3 we get to make a timetable on our homerooms country’s events I chose the ones happening 31/7/14 here is my timetable.
I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the rest but I still liked it, I don’t usually use tables but it was definitely something new.

My hyperbole story
Dear Mrs Cardoza I can explain why my hands and feet are orange. So basically when I woke up I saw this orange monster in my room! it started to come closer AND THEN IT SNEEZED ON ME AND ORANGE SNOTS CAME ON MY HANDS AND FEET. Okay then I went for a shower to try and wash it off but it couldn’t come off when I came out of the shower I saw the orange monster getting it’s friends and I tried to hide but nope it still came to me. Then I realized that I was going to be late for school so I got changed and tried to leave the house without the monsters realizing that I left. But then when I walked outside not knowing that all of the monsters were behind me AND IT WISHED ME A GOODBYE AND ALL SNEEZED ON ME YUCK.!
