Cooking up a Feast

At school we are very fortunate to have an amazing mara (garden) set up for us to explore and learn outdoors. 🌱 We have an abundance of produce at our finger tips . This wet and warm weather has seen our taro plants triple in size. Which calls for PALUSAMI ! Everything we used came straight from our mara, expect for the coconut cream. In small groups of 4, we had to prepare our taro leaves, cut up the leeks and spring onions and then to wrap our parcels. An hour and a half later we had sat down to enjoy our mouth-watering palusami  😍 🍴

Treaty Of Waitangi Fact Sheet

We chose someone who was important in the signing of the treaty to write a fact sheet.

First I chose a historical person to write a fact sheet about.

Then I read some articles about it to extend my understanding about him and the treaty of Waitangi.

Lastly, I wrote all the information down onto my fact sheet, did some fact checking and I was done.

I enjoyed this task because I learned more about the treaty of Waitangi and James Busby. I felt interested in James busby. I did well at finding interesting facts about James Busby.  I need to improve on finding a little bit  more information

How to be a kaia.

In the past couple of wiki we have been creating a poster to teach others how to do things. I chose how to be a Kaea. “Being a Kaea” is like being a role model and a Rangatira. It was fun creating this. It took me a long time. I restarted a lot to be honest though because I mucked up SO many times but in the end I finished  it.  I also have been using different verb meanings. A verb is a bossy word. We have also been using adverbs. An adverb is a description of how the verb is used. Time connective tells us the order things go in. I used first, next, then and lastly. I have found it reasonably easy to use these in my Te Reo Matatini.

Here is a pikitia of my mahi.
