Colourful Sheep

On the weekend, I was at my nannies house that was at a farm.  I went to have a l

ook at the sheeps. They looked normal.

The next day I went to have a look again but they were all colourful. I went to wake up my family  to show them what had happened to the sheeps.

They were all surprised. So I went into the paddock. I was not happy because they all looked ugly with the black and white when I saw them the day before . I went and fed the sheeps some chicken food because they love to eat it when I tried to feed the chickens. Then when I went to feed the lambs they were colourful too. I gave them some grass and some milk.

Then I went back inside to have dinner.

The next day I went to see the Sheeps. But they were back to being black and white. I was so upset that they were back to their normal colour.

Green Sea Turtle Lifecycle

Green Sea Turtle Lifecycle

  1. Firstly the green sea turtle hatches from the eggs that are buried in the sand, it takes weeks for them to dig themselves out.
  2. The young ones spend their first 5 years growing up in the open ocean. They like to live around seagrass beds and coral reefs where they can find lots of food. They like to eat jellyfish, seaweed, crabs, shrimp and worms.
  3. As they grow older the sea turtles live closer to shore and become herbivores, the females are able to breed and lay eggs at around 25 years old, The older ones are herbivores which means they mainly eat marine plants.
  4. Next they start mating and migrating, the males fight each other to mate with a female , the winner gets her pregnant.
  5. Lastly after mating the female will drag herself up the beach she hatched from, dig a hole and lay her many eggs, after about two months of being laid the little eggs will hatch and the lifecycle will start again.

My Goals were to use commas and Apostrophes.                                                                                                                                 I used Commas in all of my sentences like in my second paragraph, I achieved my goals.

Humpback Whale Life Cycle

Humpback Whale Life Cycle

11 months after a male and female humpback whale mate the female humpback whale gives birth to one calf which as a mammal she cares for by feeding and protecting them. The scientific name for the humpback whale is Megaptera Novaeangliae.

For the first 6 or 7 months they stay close to their mothers so they do not get eaten by large predators such as Killer Whales, False Killer whales and large sharks.

While calving they tend to stay in shallow warm waters normally near shores and offshore reef systems. As the calf starts to grow it will learn to hunt other animals like small fish by watching their peers hunt.

After about 2 years of age the humpback whales get strong and big enough to look after themselves, feed themselves and grow up to 18.3 m and 80,000 pounds. Like humans they live to around 80-90 years.

The loud sound of my alarm clock rings in my ears, it must be time to get up

Georgia, are you up?” mum yells from the kitchen.

Another day of school, another day of me sitting in class trying to work while Im stuck in the back with all of the annoying kids. My best friend Alyssa ( who has been my best friend since kindergarten ) normally comes to pick me up, but today she has the writing competitions at school. I drag myself out of my room to get ready for the dreaded day of school. Everyday mum makes me get my sister up, it is always  a nightmare. I knock on her door

OliviaRose?” I ask, just in case she isn’t awake.

What do you want from me now? Didnt I tell you to STOP CALLING ME THAT!?”

I always dread the morning, it goes so slow and everybody is always tired. Then we always get the motivation to do things at school. Mum walks into the hallway with a mysterious look on her face……

Making a Secure Passphrase

Today the class worked with Phil. We learned about making more secure passwords by making a smart passphrase using dice and a word chart. Students had to use dice to select 3 words randomly. Then they had to swap 1 letter for a number, make one letter a capital and swap one letter for a symbol (not a letter or number). The students worked in pairs. They created their ‘passphrase’ then tested each other. It’s good to know that you can create a really secure password that you can still remember.

The class created posters using Google Drawing. Thank you to Kayshjarn and Diya for sharing your work.

If you want to find out more, check out our student blogs. Have a good day and goodbye.
