I went into the library last Saturday in the top floor since my dad built it.

He asked  all my cousins on my dads side then we bought my Nana on my mums side and my auntie.

I really like the playground, it is really big.

I hope people will like the top floor since only the first floor is open for the chemist.

For the past few weeks  I have been participating in the daily word game called Strands. It is a grid of letters where you have to find words and a phrase called a Spanagram, according to the daily theme. Currently I have got it right 47 days in a row. I enjoy playing this game very much. I hope you try it!

We had to make candlels for matariki on Friday I did not go to the event but I really liked making my jar it looks really cool as you can see I mixed all sorts of coulers together and I made this.

Last week we made lanterns to light at the cultural festival. We painted jars I painted mine purple and put little stars on it. Lots of people did different design on their lanterns some painted them pink or green or black, with dots or flowers or lines. Then the following night we placed them on carefully drawn matariki stars and lit them up it looked really good. Have you done something like this or would you like to do this.

Last week our school had a Multicultural Week

and  our class got to learn about Canada! Every class was assigned a country to learn and make a display about for the festival that was held on Thursday evening. For our display, my teacher had the idea for my friend and I to crochet some maple leaves. We did this happily and then we had the idea to string them all from a crochet chain and drape it across the display table. The completed string was roughly twice my height. 

Some other things I learned about Canada: 

– Canada is the second largest country in the world.

– The beaver is Canada’s national animal.

– Canada is bilingual – most of the population speaks either English or French. Have you ever been to Canada?

My speech on art and animation. This year for speeches I did art and animation as it’s something im really intrested in and it’s a topic I know alot about. As i know alot about the  topic I want to share some facts about art and animation.Did you know that the first piece of art was made at least 51’200 years ago and it was made by early humans like cavemen and the first animation was made in 1892 by a french inventor called Emile Reynaud. Last week it was Cutler week day and I had to do my speech likely the boys want to the tech center and there was only girls.But I was still scared and Neavers I did my speech on Thursday then Monday we started planing what we are going to did for Cutler week and the school gave us switterland so our that was our class cutler .We made so food that is from swizlerand but we made it.It was nice and we made posters,slides,and table and broaded display . then on Thursday there was a curtly festarvly and on friday I didn’t come to school course I had to go to chirschurch .

A few weeks ago we had tech I had cooking and it’s really fun we made chicken pasta it was so yummy here’s the recipe.

1/4 cup of onion 1 teaspoon of garlic 1 tablespoon of oil 1/2 cups of canned chopped tomatoes 1 teaspoon of mixed herbs 1 teaspoon of salt 200 g of chicken pinch of black pepper 1 cup of pasta

Right now this week is week 11 of term 2. This term lots of stuff has happened. These are some of those things. Basketball for the school has happened. Sports week Monday was soccer shootout Tuesday was rugby conversions Wednesday was Basketball knockout Thursday was an obstacle course and Friday was tug of war students vs teachers. Culture week we made lanterns and brochures. Book week: Monday we searched for crayons and I can’t remember what else because it was awhile ago. Practising for the kapa haka competitions has started. Soccer tournament was in hoki there was one girls team a year 5/6 team and a all boys team for year 7/8. Speeches are mostly done. Outside of school soccer has started. League has finished and netball has started. Fifa world cup started and New Zealand got knocked out in the group stage sadly. As you can tell a lot has happened in term 2. last week we had cultural week and a group of my classmates made a slideshow about Switzerland food like biberli biberli and Schinkengipfeli. We had to say what the ingredients are and the steps to make the food. later in the week me and one of my classmates made slideshow of lots of facts about Switzerland. On Thursday the whole school had a cultural festival at the school hall there was food fact about the different countries and there was a kapa haka performance.

Swiss Sweets and Starry Skies: Our Epic Cultural Week Journey!

Kia ora, whānau! What an incredible week we have had celebrating the diverse cultures that make our community so vibrant and special. This year, our class took a deep dive into the stunning landscapes and delicious traditions of Switzerland. From the snow-capped Alps to the cozy kitchens of Swiss bakers, we’ve learned so much about the heart of Europe. It’s been a week filled with “Mata Riki” (tiny eyes) looking toward new horizons and bellies full of international treats!

The Ultimate Highlight: Making Carac Tarts

The absolute standout of our Swiss exploration was getting hands-on in the kitchen to bake authentic Carac tarts. These classic Swiss pastries are as beautiful as they are tasty, featuring a small, shiny tart shell filled with a rich, velvety dark chocolate ganache. We worked carefully to prepare the pastry using a mix of flour and ground almonds for that perfect crunch. The real magic happened when we topped the tarts with a vibrant green fondant and finished them with the iconic chocolate dot right in the center. Seeing the tray of bright green tarts was a “wow” moment for everyone—they looked almost too good to eat!

Swiss Displays and Matariki Lanterns

Our classroom was truly transformed with some amazing visual displays that bridged the gap between Switzerland and Aotearoa. The Swiss table display, organized by Grady, Priah, and Pretty, featured a fantastic physical “Switzerland” sign created by Grayson and Nemani. We showcased a range of Swiss “nibbles” ideas, including Biberli (honey-spice treats) and Schinkengipfeli (savory ham croissants). To make the week even more special, we connected our cultural learning to the local season by working on Matariki lanterns. Sophie and Sharlize led the team in refining these beautiful star-inspired designs, which reminded us of the importance of remembering the past and planning for the future a value shared across many cultures.

This week in T2 at grey main school we did our yearly speeches. We started presenting them last week and hope to finish them by Tuesday everyone’s speech so far has been awesome. My speech was about The amazing digital circus.  It’s been really fun watching everyone’s speech and learning new things about every classmate especially classmates I don’t talk to. Anyway speech’s at Grey main school have been really fun and I know it will be fun next year Thanks for listing to my blog.

Cultural week ends. We had a fun week.  We got to dress up as someone  and you had to say where you came from. I said NZ  Greymouth. I dressed up as a New Zealand hunter.

I have learnt new things about France.

The Eiffel Tower was built in 1884.  It is 142 years old.  I like the way it looks, it is really tall and I like it when it is night with all of the sparkles.

Then I got to build a 3 D model of it with a group. We built it out of lego.

This week was fun because we got to build 3 D models and do research about France and landmarks.

This week classes got a country to learn about my country was France I will share some facts.

1. Most people go to the Eiffel tower  in pairs. The Eiffel tower has been built for 137 years.
2. The Louvre has the Mona Lisa painting by Leonardo Divici . The painting was made in 15th centenary. Your time to see the painting is 15  seconds.
3.  France has the hottest temperature in the  country this week,  it was 46 degrees c, 18 people died.

The cultural festival was the best and my dad gave me 5 dollars so I could get two drinks for me and my friend. Then we went in the garden and it was dark out there it was creepy.  Then we saw a red light out a persons window and that was creepy. Then we looked down the hallways and it was really really creepy in the hallways and our lanterns didn’t work. My teacher lit the lanterns as soon as I went outside the lantern died on  me and it happened to my friend too. We were like what happened  and then I had to go home and when I was going home we got McDonald’s and I was so full I got small everything, plus coke.

Cultural weeks are the best!

This week at Grey Main we have been travelling around the world finding out about different places. Our class was looking at France. France is part of Europe. This week on the news France reached 44 degrees Celsius. It’s the hottest place. France has neighbours are Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Andorra and Spain and Monaco. and cultural festivals. I will miss it!

During cultural week we made 3D sculptures from France. I made an Arc de Tiromphe we built it with cardboard. My friends built it with me too. We made lots of different designs we even put a sign on it. Lots of other people did  the Eiffel Tower. Two groups made the Louvre.

OL’A this week has been cultural week . Every  day we have to make a slide about France so like some of as did the Eiffel tower and I did pain au  chocolat it is like a croissant with  chocolate inside. Today we have to come as our  culture  like my culture is South Africa.We have  also  have to be  in groups of 3 or 4  to make our  3D sculptures. My team did the Eiffel  tower. At the festival there was different  country  food like the USA hot dog and  Mexico nachos.  But my favourite was the Switzerland  tarts .

At the library there was a bird’s eye view. A lot of kids did it. It looked cool. On Friday it was dress up. I did not dress up. It was fun. I enjoyed Cultural week.
