Pepeha Art

Hello!! In the first week of school we had to start a piece of art called ‘Pepeha art’ It’s exactly as it sounds. Our first job was to take a black piece of paper and use a white pencil to colour in the outline of our hometowns/iwis. Secondly we had to paint a background using a certain colour as stripes, and then write our pepeha on the lines. This week we were learning about and figuring out what our pepehas were.

Here’s my art ⬇

mince chow mein

Mince chow mein

Yesterday we made a mince chew mein but things didn’t go to plan because someone had taken our left over mince from when we had made burgers and we were running out of time so we had to rush things and go a bit fast. We had made a lot and people from other classes had some because we had to much. Here is a recipe and ingredients for our mince chew mein.

350g noodle, instant, boiled, drained

You can substitute the chow mein noodles with rice or vermicelli noodles.

2 tsp cornflour

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce

1 cup beef stock

1 bunch bok choy

Or use baby bok choy or cabbage.

1 onion sliced

1 celery stalk sliced

2 carrots thinly sliced

1. Cook your noodles in a pot or pan

2. Cut your veggies

3. Brown your mince

4. Mix your soy sauce and cornflour

5. Then when your mince is browned add your veggies and sauces in

6. Then add your noodles

7. And serve

Beef and noodle chow mein

My pepeha (about my life)

I were born 22nd June 2010 at Ahus Sykehus in Lillestrom, Norway.

I don’t have a mountain. But my town was Trogstad, one hour from the capital city Oslo. The town is only small with a population of approx 4000.

We lived in a house that was built in 1850… Mum and Dad bought it when Eric (my brother) was a baby. We had no kitchen and no proper bathroom, but over the course of 8 years we turned the house into 3 beautiful apartments. We sold these apartments shortly after we moved to New Zealand.

Your best friends were Tristan, Emil, Odin, Otilie. (and cousins)

My nana in Norway’s name is Ruth, I call her Mossa

I had a grandad in Norway’s name is Svein, I call him Besse

My great grandmother on Besse’s side is still alive. I had always been very close with her. Her name is Anne Marie. My great granddad Alf passed away a couple of years ago.

I have an named aunty Hege, she has no children

A have a uncle named Magnus, he has three children Emil, Odin and Otilie.

We had a beautiful labrador dog named Tilly. And happily she is still alive and living with my mum’s friend Else Marie.

Reading summary.

The article that I read was about Japan launching a lickable screen. The screen can taste like 10 different flavours. The idea was to eat while you are on a device. My opinion is that THIS IS CRAZY.
