Hello! Today I am going to tell you 3 types of turtles I learned at school. The first one is a sea turtle. It has flippers to escape quickly from predators like sharks.(Fun story: yesterday, when I was writing this in my writing book, I accedentally rote slippers instead of flippers!) Okay so lets keep going with the facts. The second one is a tortoise. The tortoise lives on some tropical islands and eats green food like grass weeds and flowers. The last one is the terrapin. It’s the turtle I always think when I hear the word pet turtle. The terrapin lives in swamps, lakes and ponds just like a frog but it is nowhere near related to frogs.Fun fact:If your pet  turtle flips over on its back, it means its dead.

The Turtle/Tortoise In Kupenga

kamusta… WE HAVE A PET, well not an actual pet.So basically we were told we got a new class pet – its a stuffed toy tortoise. The tortoise has been here for a while, the tortoise is a female she is currently unnamed.People have been treating it not so well… we blame the boys, the poor tortoise has holes, pens/markers, and someone (not name-calling) kept on uhm ,,humping” her in some way.Her name is currently being chosen, there’s lots of  cool names but there’s so many Felixes like what 100 in a row.

The last I think 2 weeks or 1 we’ve been learning about turtles. It was VERY obvious because whatever is the background of the notices and stuff is what were learning about 90% of the time.Doing research is fun especially animals so learning about turtles and tortoises are so fun to learn about, my opinion. The 3 main turtles were working on are the ,,Tortoise’, ,,Sea Turtle”,  and ,,The Terrapin”.Mainly we’ve been learning about tortoises, they have a high domed shell where their legs fit in completely same with its head.Unlike turtles tortoises live mostly on land rather than the ocean because their body’s aren’t made for swimming. They have this like thick pillar legs is how it’s described and claws for digging.

here’s the Tortoise’:3 v —

Every single turtle has a different feature and one of them are their feet, I know it sounds weird but turtles actually have pretty cool feet like a tortoise has elephant like feet to walk over hard stuff, and sea turtles have flipper like feet but the coolest one is the terrapin turtles that have feet with sharps claws to swim and to climb slippery logs. There are many types of turtles and I learned three of them! One of them is of course the tortoise which lives in dry lands like deserts, forests and grasslands. The sea turtle lives in the ocean and coral reefs. Lastly the terrapin turtle lives in swamps. Turtles vs tortoise

kia Ora

Did you know that turtles and tortoises are not the same. for example turtles are sea animals and tortoises are land animals. Tortoises can hide in their shell when there is danger but turtles can’t hide in their shell. Turtles have a secret power to let them go 9.7 mph or 12 kph in currents but tortoises are incredibly  slow like 0.1 kph. when turtles go on land they go 0.001 mph. Tortoises also have a special power like their shell that protects them from predators like raccoons and foxes.
