The twisted tree

For the past little while I have been reading a book in homeroom for silent reading called the twisted tree. The book is a pretty good book. It is about a girl who has one eye blind find out she can touch people’s clothing and read there feelings. She then goes on holiday to her grandma Mormor’s house. It turns out Mormor is dead and there is another random boy living there called Stig. She than has to water a tree and if she doesn’t water something bad will happen. She doesn’t water it and then she starts to see ghosts with her blind eye. I think it is a good book and I would rate it a 7/10.

Today in class we had to make a different book cover for the book we are reading so here is mine. I hope you enjoy it.

T-Shaped

This term in Te Ngahere we have been doing lots of T-Shaped. This T-Shaped was about looking at a picture and thinking of what was happening and what might happen next. I found it quite hard because we have to look for an adverb, they usually start end with a ly. It helped us to  start looking at mood and atmosphere in stories.

Have you ever done T-Shaped in your class?

What good writers do!

At the end of last term, ATN had to put together a teaching slide about all the things they had learnt in writing.  It had to give an example and use a range of media to present their learnings.  They have blown me away with what they learnt.  I wish I could post all 24  but I will add just my top 5.  P.S.  it has been really hard to narrow it down.  I hope you learn something from these very cool slides.  Leave us a comment about your favourite tool or new learning.  Enjoy.

Reading response – wild life

During this documentary it showed that orangutans’ homes are getting stolen from them because our people are cutting them down to the same species of trees because they don’t care about the animals.

In this documentary it tells us that our people on this earth isnt sharing our environment with the worlds wild life.

Humans are the reason animals are coming to the brink of extinction, animals and many other species have done  nothing to deserve what has been done to there own homes, humans are greedy and they don’t think about what they are doing to our poor wild life. The poor species  is suffering from home loss which is all because of humans.

For example:

There is an endangered oranatang in borneo..

His kind is at the brink of exstinction and the reason there close to extinction is bc of our own kind we are destroying there land, their home and especially there food humans are the reason these poor orangutans are disappearing and not just there kind many more poor animals suffering becauase humans are greedy and they don’t think of the wild life there killing.

Bay Of Island

Kia ora yesterday I went to Bay of Islands College. We went for orientation day. We were there with another school. We walked around the school and we did things that people in college do. We had fun. Some of the lessons we learnt were Social Studies, Te Reo Maori, PE, Art, Woodwork, Science and at the beginning of the day we made a paper tower. Do you want to go to Bay of Islands College?

Here is a link to the Bay of Islands College website.
