things I’ve learnt this week

This week we’ve been learning measurements in Mathematics and Descriptive writing in literacy.

Lately in class we’ve been learning about time in measurements like 10 minutes in seconds or an hour in minutes or 34 days in weeks -Mathematics

In Descriptive writing we have to describe what we see in a picture or something , lately I’ve been good at it I think.-Literary

In social science we’ve been learning about voting and the first elections , in 1853 the first ever election happened and only British men were aloud to vote , by the time it was 1893 women were aloud to vote and all men but u had to be 20 then it went down to 19 then down to 18 like today , in Voting and elections its a good thing to but if its not your thing its fine not to vote , but in my opinion voting is something that happened for good reasons , the last election was pretty good but some people don’t like that nationals won , if I got to choose a party to win I’d choose Maori , because its my culture and for Maori rights. – Social Science / Social Studies.

Tree Talk

We have been writing a story in a Google Docs.

I created this story by reading the book Tree Talk and listening.

I am proud of myself because I didn’t  mess around or talk to the person next to me.

Something I found quite challenging was to remember to put capital letters after a full stop.

Next time I will make sure that I use capital letters after my full stops.

My tips about writing a story like this is to make sure you take your time, unless a teacher asks you to go a bit faster.

What subject I like this week?

Hello I’m Ian and I will talk about a subject I like this week.

In this week I liked “Social studies”.  I like Social Science this term as we have been learning about Power and Mana, and people and history who have/had Power and/or Mana.  This week our topic is on Voting and Elections.  We have learned a lot of vocabulary around voting and elections to help us understand these terms.  Whaea Leone has us placed in groups of 4-5 students as we will be doing a Mock Election next week.

In my group for our mock election I am the leader of my party, consisting of Saia, Priest, Avinit and, Me (Ian).

We are still sorting who does what but right now everything else is sorted. Right now I am enjoying it, another thing I enjoy about social studies are Power and mana. What are they both? Mana is a supernatural power you are born with and can only be good and power can be passed down or earned and can be used for good or evil.

Bye the end-Ian
