Multiplication Algorithm – 1 Number

LI: To multiply whole numbers using algorithms.

For this task I revised on how to do multiplication algorithm with 1 Number. Algorithm is form of way to solve addition, subtraction, and multiplication problems. To solve this problem on the DLO you align the numbers ones with ones. Multiply the ones and the ones which is 15. put the 5 under the ones and carry the 1 to the next value. Then multiply the ones and tens which equals to 3. Add the 3 and the 1 you carryed over together. Both equals to 4 so you put the 4 under the tens place.

I found this activity interesting because I tried to find out how to explain, solving multiplication algorithm

Whāinga Ako O Taku Kōrero

Kia Ora koutou katoa,

This is a presentation about my Kōrero learning goals I have accomplished to achieve and what we’e been doing in our Kōrero learning block.

We have been learning how to speak fluent Maori in our Kōrero block for 30 minutes to build our vocabulary so we are confident enough to have normal conversations with anyone.

I found it hard at first but once I got familiar with different words I started to notice that I was getting better at speaking Maori.

The level I am at for Kōrero is Kpa, I am speaking above my expected level and gaining more new kupu hou I haven’t learned which makes me proud of myself. I am able to say my mihi when doing taumata, call the visitors in our kura, and speak in my class as well as to my friends.

I have shared myself recting my mihi for Kōrero because its an important skill you need to know as a tuakana to set the example for the teina of our kura.

My friend and I have also created a video of us talking about going to get food at the grocery shop. We had to repeat each lines to each other and practice to record, then we had to think about which ones we were comfortable with saying in the video.

My goal by the end of the year is to be at Miro for Kōrero, and describe what I study in te reo maori, talk confidently in my class, in the play ground as well as in the community.

Site of Significance (2) My Room

Site of Significance: My Room

(sorry for the low quality of photos I had to lower it down because it could not exceed 172 MB) + (No scanner at home)

Page 1- This is the page that I organised to layout my first pages, I expressed my ideas into this page and what I could do for each page, planning dates for when to take photos

I included ideas with people in my social life, including family and friends

  • How I will bring Lisa Reihana into my pages, bringing maori history and filipino history together in one page.

I created a page for my transcript, the page is about my ideas about the character that Lisa Reihana used in her “Pursuit of Venus”

  • I used a palette knife and oil based paints

I thought of a theory that the character was captain James Cook because of the costume design

in Pursuit of Venus [infected]: Lisa Reihana | Norval Foundation

This page is to explain how I perceive her way of producing works

I examined her piece again (Infected, In Pursuit of Venus)

She retells history of Maori, creating a backgroung which is highly stylised, not entirely realistic but semi.

The models were perfectly blending in the setting, the shadows were created to make an illusion that they’re part of the background.

This is the second page I created, it focuses on the values that are important to me, I painted objects that I considered significant.

For the 3rd blog post, I’ll be introducing more pages and going into further detail about each of my works.

Week 5 – Soccer

Kia Ora e te Whānau!

This week a group of 24 tamariki atteneded a soccer tournament at Cass Square.
The tournament was comprised of 350 tamariki, 13 kura and 40 teams. We had three teams representing Kaniere School and represent they did!
They were great both on and off of the feild, enacting the schools values and looking out for themselves and other schools.

It was a fantastic opportunity to interact with kura from across the Westland district and it was lovely to see some familiar faces!
Enjoy the pictures below 🙂

This week for R.E we had to research other countrys about their Christianity and learn how to say the sign of the cross in that language.

For my country I chose to do Italy, I learned how to do the sign of the cross in Italian.

¨Nel nome del Padre, del Figlio, e dello Spirito Santo¨

I also put some things about their feast day and why they celebrate it.
