Kia Ora readers.
This week on wednesday we were learning about rockets. We learnt this with the help of STEM, STEM stands for Sience, Tecnolagy, Engieneir, and Maths. These all help people to learn and understand the phisics and creation. I think it is very chalangeing to do this but at lest you get to have lots of fun with your friends.
How many weeks do you think it will take you to understand STEM?

Once I closed my eyes the world changed forever. They kept on searching and they never stopped. There were clues, clues that symbolised hope his clothes were under the fence but father never knew why but then he tried to make a conclusion ‘did Bruno walk all they way to Berlin’ he stopped. Mother did not return to Berlin quite as quickly as she had expected. She actually stayed there for months, waiting for Bruno to be found.
But then mother finally went to Berlin expecting to see Bruno on the doorstep but he wasn’t there of course. Then Gretel followed up to the house but mother was on the floor crying that Bruno was lost. Meanwhile dad thought it was because of him everything was because of father. Father was ordered to go with the soldiers to go to another camp. He was happy to do so because he didn’t really mind what they did to him anymore.
LI: Learning to show an expression meter of how the mood changes throughout the story.
For Reading, Mrs Anderson Reading have been reading the book called The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Manea and I fiigured the mood in the story goes either high or low. Eg: Shmuel and Brunos friend is really high near hyperactive because their really happy about how they had a connection between them, When they are searching for Shmuels papa they felt hopelee because he was no where to be found and they were close to giving up.
This meter shows the mood throught the chapters in the story and why.

Hi guys this weekend you might see me post a lot. And that is because I am staying at my favourite place and that is at my grandparents house. With their dogs and their cat , Tesa and Baxter Tilly. They are so cute I will put some pictures on my blog in a minute it has been a brilliant weekend so far. Their cat won’t be in this but he is also a pet here. We love them so much.

During CRT with Islay, Papatūānuku has been learning about the human body. We discovered how the brain acts as the ‘boss’ of everything we do and explored how the right and left sides of our bodies work together.
For the last few weeks, we have used our ‘brain gym’ to practice tricky exercises, like walking in sync with a buddy. We also got creative by sculpting mini brains out of clay and building moving hand models using straws and string. It is amazing to see the fingers move when you pull the strings!

LI: To synthesise your understanding of a text by using varied sentence structures to communicate character, mood, and abstract ideas.
Nothing remained. Soldiers searched the entire perimeter. The gate stood completely empty, and Bruno’s clothes lay abandoned in the mud. Although Mother stayed for several months hoping for a miracle, she eventually returned to Berlin in tears. The haunting silence of the deserted woods echoed through the camp while Father sat alone by the fence, finally piecing together the horrifying truth of what he had done. Utter devastation. “Where did he go?” the family cried out in vain. How could a boy vanish so completely into the shadows of his own father’s creation? Father lost his command, surrendered to his grief, and accepted his ultimate downfall. He realized that the cruelty he built had destroyed his own son forever.

My eyes closed. The heavy walls seemed to shrink closer. Space was completely vanishing, so everyone stood shoulder to shoulder. Because we were packed so tightly together, I could hear everyone’s racing heartbeats. The suffocating heat of a hundred bodies rose through the darkness while the faint sound of collective whispering echoed softly against the cold concrete walls. No escape. “We stay together, no matter what,” Shumel promised. Would there even be enough air for us to keep that promise? He ignored the darkness, took his shumel’s hand, and refused to let go. Then, the heavy iron bolt slid into place outside.

As part of our technology unit, we created some delicious looking biscuits yesterday! The aim was to make a yummy treat that Bunbun (our soft toy rabbit) would love to eat at a party with friends. Last week we designed and planned our creations and yesterday was finally the day to make our products. The best part was definitely the testing! Which one do you think looks the best?

Talofa lava. We have been celebrating Samoan Language this week with a special assembly. Students from Manurewa High School visited and entertained us with their amazing Samoan singing and dancing.
Tuesday afternoons are our Library Session. We enjoy taking the time to look through the bookshelves and play some of the games in our school library.
The highlight of our week was our trip to the Auckland Museum at the end of the week. We learned about Mātariki inn the Education Centre and explored the rest of the museum. Thank you to Raeesah’s Dad, Aerhyl’s Mum, and Adisree’s Grandad, who supported our students on the trip. We arrived at school too late for Tama to go home with a student so…
…this week Tama was awarded to…WHAEA ANGELA! He’ll be spending a busy long weekend looking after Whaea Charlie’s baby, Eramiha.

Kia ora readers,
My reading group have been reading a book called the Robot Challenge.
It is a story where four kids named: Sean, Niket, Ria and Caitlin join a competition where they have to build a dancing robot.
They start building there robot on the fourth of May that is eighty-four day away the twenty-eighth of July.
This book is about how four kids build a robot in to a competition and have to do a lot of calculating and testing to make sure the robot would do the right moves and see if it danced with the music.
My favourite part about this activity was reading the book.
Was it easy or hard?
This week we finished reading Pocket Bear by Katherine Applegate. Take a look at some of our responses to the book.
In Room 6 during our Cybersmart programme we have been learning to make posters with our top short cut tips. Take a look …
This week, I have been reading with my group. It was a pukapuka called I te Po.
Ko te mea tutahi/first, we had to read the book, and we did, but it was a little long.
Ko te mea tua rua/next, we had to do an activity, but it was like the book;
We had to put everything in order, and it was easy.
We created a comic strip about the danger of social media. Mine is about a woman wanting to post her dog near her town, tho it would be a bad idea. Especially if it shows her home town. first it says “I want to post me and my pet in our home town!” She continues to take a video of her and her dog as she was about to share her town name. “Hi guys! Me and my dog are at greymo-” you can see she got cut off, “HEY! don’t say that! people can track you down!”A woman said, to stop what was about to happen. “Thank you for telling me, i’ll be more careful.” Stay safe. We have been learning about digital foot prints, as names – Mili, Sam and Awa Examples, pretty much the same story as the rest.
