How to simplify and calculate fractions.

When working with equivalent fractions, there is one main rule to remember: whatever change you make to the top number (the numerator), you must also make to the bottom number (the denominator).
If you are simplifying a fraction, you divide both numbers by the same factor until you cannot divide any further. If you are changing a fraction into a power-of-ten denominator—like 10, 100, or 1,000—you multiply both the top and bottom by 10 each time you move up to the next place value. You keep going until you reach the largest denominator you need for your problem.
Ending Tech Rotation
We spent quite a bit of time at Tech doing a weaving project with Matua Adrian from Tamaki College. It was actually the last time he was going to teach us, so it felt a bit special. During these lessons, we learned how to make different kinds of woven patterns, but this time we focused on making a pattern called “weaving stairs.” We chose to do this pattern because it’s simple enough for us to pick up easily, but it also has a deeper meaning behind it. The stairs in the pattern symbolise the different parts or stages of life, like growing up, learning new things, and reaching goals as we get older. So, making the stairs was a way of showing progress, moving forward, and getting better as we go through life.
The whole activity was really fun and kept everyone interested. What made it more exciting was that we could choose all our own colours for the weaving. We could pick bright colours, soft colours, just whatever we liked, which made the project even more personal and interesting. While we were busy weaving, we didn’t just stay quiet we also sang some songs together, had breaks to relax and chat, and played some simple mental games with the class. These little games made the day even more enjoyable and helped everyone stay focused and happy. As we worked on our weaving, we were all eager to see how our patterns would turn out.
By the time we finished, with plenty of help from Matua Adrian, each of us had made two nice woven patterns. We got to take them home, which was great because it meant we had something to remember the day by and show our family. Overall, it was a really good experience. We learned a new skill, got to be creative with colours, had fun singing and playing games, and at the end, we felt proud of what we had made. All in all, it was a day full of learning and having fun, and it felt good to create something with our own hands.
Book review: Love Our Ocean
Talofa readers,
We have been reading a book called love our ocean.
It is about a young girl named Riley who is introduced to the ocean by her dad and becomes a YOE.
(Young Ocean Explorers)
They swim through the ocean and explore wonderful creatures.
They see creatures like rays and sharks and have amazing adventures.
Here are some slides we made about the book:
Can you spot any characters
I hope you enjoy the slides I make and look through them.
Have you read this book before?
I hope to hear from you in the comments readers.
Bye-bye see you soon readers.
Teamwork🤝
Kia ora readers,
We have been learning about teamwork and what is stand for.
T is for together.
E is for everyone.
A is for achieve.
M is for more.
Together Everyone Achieves More.
Another meaning is:
Together Encourage Active Members.
On Tuesday my class walked around the field together as a team.
Here is a video of us running:
Then we played a game about team building called outlet.
It’s where we split into teams and try to knock the others teams cones down.
We had to work together in able to knock down the cones.
Green team was against team red and blue team against no bands.
My team won our game.
We were able to communicate and we worked together.
My favourite part about the game was trying to knock down the cones and guarding our own cones.
What would be your favourite part of the game?
I hope you enjoyed the video and learning about team work.
I hope to hear from you in the comments.
Bye-bye readers see you soon.

(I don’t think he’s here today)
The table tally is kind of empty right now because Whaea Annie didn’t give out any points/tallies and it’s a Monday so it restarted today (I think)
Maybe we’ll get some more next time!
Hopefully we’ll win
Now onto the create tasks!
So for my create task, I had to do a Two Truths And A Lie but facts about Kiwis adapting instead!
I won’t really tell you what I did because it will be kind of boring if I tell you anyway
And I’ll ESPECIALLY not tell you the answer because of obvious reasons. (Hopefully you know-)
Anyways, I blogged pretty quick because there wasn’t much to write but it will still fun, I guess
I used Google drawing, the font is Gamja Flower bolded and I rate this create task a 8/10!
Reason: It was kind of fun but it was kind of boring because there wasn’t too much to do.. (Idea from my best friend Lina :D)
Now here is my work!
I hope you like it!
(It’s a screenshot and I didn’t really do much because I didn’t really NEED to do much)
(Also, you have to try and guess which one is the two truths and which one is a lie, I’ll write down the answers at the bottom of this blog post)
(Please let me know in the comments or in real life if something is wrong with the picture)
