Heart Disection

Talofa and welcome back to my blog.

Last Friday, in Science, we dissected a Lamb’s Heart. We had to get into pairs, and I went with one of my classmates, Mohammad.

The aim of this was to understand how the heart works and how it keeps us alive. We did this by cutting the right side of the heart with scissors and started to figure out where the different parts were, then we cut the left side and identified the other parts of that side. Some of the parts we found were the right and left atrium. The right atrium’s job is to receive deoxygenated blood from the body through the Vena Cava, then it sends this blood into the right ventricle, which then pumps it to the lungs through the pulmonary artery for oxygenation. The left atrium’s job is to receive oxygenated blood from the lungs through the pulmonary veins, then it sends this blood into the left ventricle, which pumps it through the aorta to supply the rest of the body with oxygen and nutrients. There are many other parts we found, like the pulmonary valve, the aorta, and many more.

In conclusion, the heart is an important and complicated part of the body, which is why we have the ribs protecting it so it doesn’t get hurt.

Here are some pictures and a diagram of the heart.

writing term 2 week four

hi bloggers!!!

Hi bloggers today I will telling you what I had to do for writing.

for writing I had to do is  persuasive writing the  topic was student shouldn’t wear  uniform or should wear uniform my topic was students should wear uniform and in my writing I had to write a persuasive writing why students should wear uniform and I had   had to do  a introduction  and argument one argument 2 argument 3 and   conclusion  and of course the title my title is should wear school uniform.

And my introduction is

Hello today I am going to tell you why students should wear uniform  I am going to tell you my 3 reason when you go on school trips like camp people will know what school you are from, when you wear your favorite outfit on and muddy and wet day I will get really dirty  and you get bored of wearing mufti and wearing it at home and school.

and my argument 1 is

Firstly students should have to wear school uniforms because whenever you go on school trips others schools that are on trips will know what school you are from because you have a school logo and the school name that you are from.

my argument 2 is

Secondly if you have a favorite outfit and you wear it on a wet day and you are outside and you fell and made it dirty so then that will make you sad.

 argument 3 is

Finally  when you wear a mufti at home and school it will make it boring.

my conclusion is

That is why you should wear a uniform!because it is boring sad and trips.

here’s my work⤵

sorry but I cannot show you my work but I can write it down it is not letting my insert it.

Week 6: Uranus & Neptune

Task Description: Today I have finished week 6 activity for inquiry. What we had to do for today’s task was to read the slides that have some facts about Uranus and Neptune, after I have finished reading I would be given a slide that explains what my mission was. For My mission that I was given I had to make trading cards its basically like the Pokemon but our solar system. I had to work on two devices for this task. But other than that doing this was fun because I had to use my imagination to make this task and I like something challenging to do so this was very fun making. Thank you for checking out my blog, see you next time. Tofa Soifua!

Hanmer Camp🏕

On Monday 26th Totara 1 and 3 travelled to Hanmer for our school camp. On our day of arrival my group went over and did archery. I enjoyed archery very much because it was a new thing to me, that was my first time ever doing archery. We first of all learnt how to hold the bow and how to shoot it. My first practice round didn’t go very well, but with all the encouraging comments I continued and went well. After we had finish our activity’s we got all of our togs and towels together and went to the pools. The pools were so fun I didn’t want to leave! For our first night we had nachos and for dessert we had peach pudding with a side of ice cream, the nachos were very good!

On our second day we did tree climbing and mountain biking. The trees were 45 meters tall! I found it very nerve racking but I still made it to the top! Tree climbing went for about 2 hours, there was a little tree as well for people who didn’t want to climb the tall ones. We finished tree climbing then lined up for mountain biking. We went on a 9 km bike ride around the easy rider track. When we had finished biking we had some extra time so our instructor asked us if we wanted to go on a little challenge. The challenge was biking down a really winding steep hill. We biked back and then got ready for the pools again. We got back from the pools and ate dinner, We had homemade burgers and chips and our dessert was self-saucing chocolate pudding and ice cream!

On our last day we did orienteering, we had to run around the forest with a map and find some numbers with 2 letters written underneath it. Our team did very well coming in second place with 520 points! Ash helped us find the clues, if we didn’t have her help we probably wouldn’t have placed second. We came back from our last activity and ate our lunch with Totara 2! Camp was so fun!

Responsible Risks Poster

Today we had to make a poster about taking responsible risks, I said an example of responsible risk taking, it was if you rid down a hill then you would be taking a responsible risk, but if you didn’t wear a helmet that would not be a responsible risk. So this means that you should be a responsible risk taker.

What kind of risks do you take?
