Responsible Risk Taking

Today we made a poster about being a risk taker and being responsible about it. We had to make it clear that risk taking was not jumping in a pool with sharks, like trying new things and trying to skateboarded for the first time. What was the biggest risk you took? Here is my poster !

about my school week-wirihana

My school week

My week was fine and kinda fun we learnt lots of  maths stuff and even expanded on fractions,it was a great week for the school lunches for wednesday we had beef nachos on Thursday we had butter chicken and for friday we had beef burgers I forgot what we had on Monday Tuesday but that’s fine they weren’t as good as the rest of the lunches but I really enjoyed the lunches this week, the most fun thing I did all week at school was just play football that’s all I’ve been doing all week  it’s super fun though I think it’s fun,but some of the hardest thing I learnt all week was multiplication and division in deables that was super hard.

And some super special stuff is I saw my friend Sam he’s been super sick for ages and still has a bad cough but he’s fine,my favorite teacher this week was matuaa Anthony because he’s super nice and almost never yells, next week at school I wanna try better on my hand writing I write to fast and muck lots up, I showed the school values by being respectful resilient and responsable and I got student of the week with Tyson and on my certificate it said “for always showing school values” but I think I know why.

Overall I had a great week and had lots of fun I did my work and finished all the stuff I had to, I really liked this week it wasn’t perfect but it was great but I did what I had to do that’s nice.

Lake Brunner.

This week for reading I made a exaggerated paragrph about my faviroute NZ lake and town Lake Brunner here it is.

I can smell the earthy scent in the air, purifying my nose with a divine smell.

I can see the mountain faintly in the distance and the water is warmer than ever.

I see the swing bridge to my right higher than an airplane

I see the sand smoother than a bald head.

I see lake brunner.

What is your faviroute NZ lake?

Hushed / Wind Chimes

Hello everyone!

Today I’m writing a summary about Hushed/ Wind chimes.

In Literacy I have been reading Hushed/Wind chimes.

So far in the story I know.

Who: Tre, Muse Ect.

Where: Region G, Nature, Lake, “sterile” or “clinical” space

When:  ( Doesn’t say in the story. )

What: Tre and his parents were taken away.

Why: Parents taking away because they were hushed.

How: The parents were taken because they were hushed.

The story is about Tre and his parents being taken away cause of being hushed, Tre and his parents went away in separate trucks to be taken away to  a huge pod.

Tre was given an instruction to build a tower, but his creativity and imagination took over his actions, therefore he got punished for his actions. ” You don’t want to end up like Muse”

After Tre’s actions he was hushed.

He got a call from his father, his father said some words that were particularly code, Tre understand the coding and it let do success – He escape and he took Muse with him.

They went to Tre’s town ( Region G ) and it was burned down in flames… Tre was devastated.

Tre led Muse along the lake leading to a hidden boat that Tre’s father hid. They took it out and went along a  hidden stream, leading them to a Wind Chime.

Thank you for reading my blog post, have a wonderful day 🙂

Sheep’s Heart Dissection.

Today we dissected a sheep’s heart. We dissected it so we could see what was in our own hearts, and visually see on how the heart helps our respiratory system. It was interesting to see all the parts in the heart. First, we put on gloves and we opened the heart up. The first thing I noticed is how bad it smelt. It was one of the worst smells I ever smelt. I’m not even exaggerating on how bad it smelt. We analysed the left and right part of the heart. The left part of the heart is more thicker because it helps blood to pump around the body – making it more stronger and more thicker. While the right part of the heart helps to pump oxygen to the lungs.

We also looked at heart strings, the aorta and vena cava. I made a prediction before the dissection that the heart strings would be extremely easy to cut through – like how easy it was to cut the heart. But, when I tried pull on the heart strings, it was really tough. I could barely rip it apart with all my strength. I also tested all the tubes in the heart, by sticking my fingers in the heart and seeing which way my fingers come out. The Aorta is a tube in the heart that helps carry oxygen into the body. In my head, I thought the Aorta would be extremely small. But, it was bigger than I imagined.  I thought it was quite interesting on how it looked as well.

I had lot’s of fun exploring and analysing the heart. It was extremely gross at first, but once I got used to it, it was extremely interesting and a good learning experience for me – since i’m a visual learner.
