I went back to school after a few days had passed, still thinking about the memories we had. I got better after the days but still missed everything about him; it was like his voice was fading away . We went to visit him and to sing him happy birthday. I was so happy that he could have a birthday with his son and father .

HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE MAY 31st.

The Conjuring – Hide and clap

Brainstorm:

What happened – the mother is searching the house for the cause of the noises when she encounters supernatural disturbances.

Lighting – artificial – matches, lamps around the house.

warm – comes from the matches, lamps, creates a sense of safety away from the darkness

dim – only illuminates parts of the room not the whole space environment, light feels unstable like it might go out

colour – pallette – grey, black, brown, yellow, beige

its dark you can’t see much, everything is dull, lifeless, uninteresting, feels uninviting. Atomosphere – uncomfortable, afraid, unnerved, unwelcome.

Music/sound – diagetic vs nondiagetic – footsteps, doors slamming, falling down the stairs, clapping – piano – minor, loud, fast

minor – unnerving, puts you on edge

loud – frighten – jumpscares – dramatic

fast – builds tension – and anxiety.

camera – shots/angles/movement/focus

Dutch tilt – used to make viewer uncomfortable, something bad is about to happen

used to zoom out of door after it slams and locks woman in the basement with the ghost.

High angle – used to make the subject look weak and vulnerable.

used when the woman ‘falls’ or is pushed down the basement stairs. POV of demon that pushed her.

An eerie uninviting atmosphere is created in the ‘Hide and clap’ scene through the use of a dutch tilt. the mother is searching the house for the cause of the noises when she encounters supernatural disturbances. A dutch tilt is used as we zoom out from the door after it slams and locks the woman in the basement. This makes the audience feel like something bad is about to happen; the world is suddenly out of balance. Chaves and wan did this to not only make the viewer feel uncomfortable, but to let us know that the spirit has sinister intentions. Coinciding with this is the use dull, dim and dispersed lighting which adds to the ominous atmosphere of the scene. Viewers can connect with this story because it is based on actual events, and many people fear discovering an intruder in their homes in the dark.

Vanilla Cupcake

On 12 April 2022.Today I would give myself a 5/5 for participation and contribution because I judged thoroughly with every dish that was presented. I would give my dish a 5/5 (92%) for appearance because I chose to decorate it as pink piglets and they turned out really good, came out a bit rough but the judges got the idea.  I would give my dish a 4/5 (89%) for taste because it was a easy cupcake to make and it was a simple vanilla cupcake recipe so it wasn’t hard to mess it up. It turned out great and tasted nice i think. I would give my dish a 4/5 for texture because it was a little bit dry but the icing made it really good. Something I would do differently next time is create more air bubbles to make the cupcake more moist.
