Message in a Bottle Travels – SLJ #20

For the Step it Up activity of Message in a Bottle, I thought about where my message might travel to and came up with a lot of possible places. So, my message started at the breathtaking Cathedral Cove, then travelled to the historic town of Thames.

From there, it moved on to the massive city of Auckland, before heading north to the serene Bay of Islands. Finally, it ended up in Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand.

Though, just remember, this is only my opinion, and there’s a 50% chance it could have gone somewhere else! Who knows?? ✉

Aquatic Animals – Kick Start Summer Learning Journey 2024

Kamusta everyone!

Today I did this activity ” Aquatic Animals” Kick start. All you have to do is redraw your favourite sea animal. you could draw it on paper or draw it on Google draw. If you wanted to do it on Google draw you would have to outline the animal you chose. If it was on paper you would have to draw it. I chose to make it on google draw. I got a picture of a dolphin and I started to outline it. After that I coloured it. It was pretty easy and fast. My favourite sea animal is the dolphin. It is my favourite colour I and really want to see them.

This is the dolphin I made!

Bye have a great New Year! Happy Holidays!

Task Description: This afternoon I was wanting to do the summer learning journey. For this summer learning journey task I got to create a map showing where my message would start and end up. I was wanting for my message to start from Auckland NZ to the island of Tonga. This task was very fun to do but the only thing that was hard for me was trying to click on a video to embed my map because it was sadly blocked. Even though I hope that you all enjoy checking out my message in a bottle. Remember to leave a positive comment on my blog thank you. My message went through lots of hard work going through the ocean and big massive waves.

SLJ: Kaitiakitanga – Kick Start

For this SLJ activity I was challenged to record the amount of plastic waste in my house and to decide with my whanau on a goal about our recycling choices. Whether to increase our recycling or reduce plastic usage.

First, I completed the sheet and used the images provided to help me. Then, I decided with my whanau on our Goal. I wrote our ideas down and summarised it. Lastly, I had to make a poster that indicates our goal. In my poster, I added the procces of recycling and our goal.

I enjoyed this activity because I got to make a goal for me and my whanau to aim and it will change our recycling choices.

SLJ: Message in a Bottle – Kick Start

For this SLJ activity, I was challenged to write a message in a bottle. But before I start, I have to learn about messages in a bottle and what to write.

I decided that I was stranded on an island and I need help. So I write a message and put it in a bottle. On the message, I made sure to write my coordinates to make it easier for people to find me and my name on the bottle. For it I don’t survive, my bottle will be put in a museum for people to see the ‘ancient’ artifact. Then, I would throw the bottle in the ocean and wait until I get help.

This activity was interesting because it made me come up with my own message and story to put a message in a bottle.

SLJ Message in a Bottle- Kick Start

Hello everyone,
Today I went to the Summer Learning Journey,
The task for today was that we had to like to make a google drawing pick a bottle and link the bottle onto a google doc and on that google doc there would be a message. You would have to decorate the google drawing like make the bottle tilted so it could look like it is in the water.
OR You could make it in real life like get a bottle and write a message on a paper that looks very stained like it was from the 70s and put the paper in the bottle.

First I had to get paper then I got a used tea bag and I dabbed it on to the paper to make it look old.
Then I scrunched the paper and opened it then I rolled it up and put it inside the bottle.
The Letter I wrote would be at the shore of the beach
Now I took the Pictures, wanna see them,
Here you go,

If the Letter is unreadable The Letter says
“Hello!
Thank you for picking up this bottle. We are currently on holiday and have no access to Internet so could you please take this message to our parents who live at 24 foster rd 1025. And please tell them It was from Anna and John. They live in Italy Subs please find a way To get it to them. We are sending this letter To you from Egypt. As a reward We have gotten you A rare flower From Egypt. Thank you so much Good luck”
Byee Happy New Years Eve!

SLJ Activity 2: Step It Up Shell – ebration

Hey everyone!
Yesterday I did the Summer Learning Journey, I forgot to do the blog so I am Doing it today.
Yesterday’s task was to make a shell museum and like facts and the shells names and a picture,
First you had to create a Google slide and then you have to find a shell that is unique to NZ,
now You have to Find some facts about the shell And put the Picture right beside it,
And then you keep on doing it again and again and again Until you have enough slides I did like 15 slides yesterday.

I found this activity pretty tricky because I haven’t really made a shell museum before or any Museum at all on Google slides, so yeah I didn’t really know what to do so i had to be creative with this.

Anyways here is my Museum.

Bye Have any of you guys seen a museum before in real life?
Byee Happy New Years EVE!

Among us box jellyfish escape room

Hello reader this is my escape room about box jellyfish:

one of the tasks of the summer learning is to create an among us escape room about a sea creature. The summer learning journey is a site that I use over the summer so that I don’t forget what I have learnt in the past year. This activity helped me see more perspectives about making challenges for other people for example: with the question about the box jellyfishes scientific name I just used the letters in the answer to make other wrong answers. Once you have completed my escape room please send a comment to me saying how much you enjoyed completing it and some things that I could have improved while in the progress of making it. I hope seeing this will help you create a challenge for others. Bye
