Taskboard For Swimming Term 4 Week 8

[There is no WALT today]

Hi Bloggers! 😊 😊 😊

This week we had to do a Taskboard. The reason why we had to do a Taskboard instead of Book choices is because some people went for Swimming! We had to do three tasks from the Taskboard. We didn’t have to do tasks in order. Then we had to Blog them. We could Blog them separately or all together. We had five tasks to choose from. The tasks were; Reading, Writing, Maths, PB4L, and Cybersmart Escape Room. For the Reading we had to design our own School. We had to watch four videos. For Writing we had to finish our three day weekend and type it up, or we had to continue with our new piece of writing. [The new piece of writing was about where you had to choose a Job for next year and you have to write why you will do it, and be good for doing that job] For Maths you had to think about what Tessellation means. For PB4L you had to watch a video about YouMe Empathy. Then you had to make a Y Chart about it. Then for the Cybersmart Escape Rooms you have to continue with your Escape Rooms. The ones that I chose were; Reading, Cybersmart Escape Rooms, and Writing. I had first done the Cybersmart Escape Rooms, then I did Reading, then lastly I did Writing. I Blogged my Cybersmart Escape Room separately then for the other two tasks, I Blogged them together. For Writing I choose Studant Council because I’m on a New topic. For the Escape Room, I chose Trolls. [I have the Blog of my Escape Room before this Blog. I also Updated the Escape Room a lot of times] For the Reading one you have to watch videos about different schools around the World. [on the second slide] Some of the videos were about different schools, what happens if there were No Rules, and the food at the schools. [I think] We don’t have to watch the videos in order. We can start from Up, Down, Left, or Right. It doesn’t really matter which video you start watching. I like to do the tasks on the Taskboard. Especially when it’s Swimming Week. I think I can improve on my Reading.

UPDATE: I will Update my work once I’ve finished it. 😄 😄 😄

Therapy/service animals assessment

In Health, we have been learning about service and therapy animals. We have learned about what service animals do, how they support people with particular conditions and the positive impacts of service animals.

Persuasive Writing Term 4 Week 8

WALT: [No WALT Today]

Hi Bloggers! 😁

For the past few weeks we have been doing Persuasive Writing. First we did Battle Of The Bars, then we did Agree Or Disagree for the weekends being 3 days. Lastly we did what job you want to do next year. I chose the Student Council. For the weekend one, I chose 2 day weekends instead of 3 day weekends because, if you have 3 day weekends then you will feel lazy. But if you have 2 day weekends you won’t be lazy. We had to first plan our weekends being 2 or 3 days. You could choose from doing a Hamburger plan or a Mind Map. For the Hamburger plan you have to write your ideas in a box, then you have to write down the main ideas. For the Mind Map you have to do the same thing. But you have to put lines for it. Because it doesn’t have boxes with lines. It only has circles. After the planning, you have to circle 3 of the ideas that you like, then you have to put it into paragraphs. Then you have to write the Introduction. The Introduction normally goes at the start. But we had to do it in the end. So since we did the Introduction at the end, we didn’t do a Conclusion. After that we had to make a Copy of a Google Doc and then we had to name our Google Doc, then we had to put it into our Writing Folder. We had to put the Introduction at the start in our books. Then we had to copy the rest of our 3 three paragraphs. Once we had done that, we had to Share it to Miss Ronald. Lastly we had to Blog it. I like to do Persuasive Writing. It’s fun to do. Next time I can improve on making my writing paragraphs bigger. I also can improve on making my Introduction have more sentences. But it was still a nice Introduction.

UPDATE: I will Update my work once I’ve finished it. 😁 😁 😁

AGREE OR DISAGREE ABOUT WEEKENDS BEING 2 Or 3 Days

Introduction: Did you know that a 3 day weekend could make you lazy? I strongly believe that a 2 day weekend is better than a 3 day weekend. I think this because, I wouldn’t get lazy, I would get enough sleep instead of sleeping extra, and lastly I would go out once, instead of twice. Because I wouldn’t get sick if I went out once, I would only get sick if I went out 3 days a week. Which would be everyday.

Paragraph One:  I Disagree about the weekend being 3 Days because you will lose some of your knowledge, and if you lose some of your knowledge you will not know anything. Then you will not feel like doing anything.

Paragraph Two: Clearly you will lose one day of your learning opportunity. If you lose one day of learning, then at home you’ll feel lazy to go to school. At home you won’t get any exercises, unless you go for classes.

Paragraph Three: Everyone knows that you don’t need an extra special weekend for staying with your family. You get to spend time with them everyday, after school and on the weekends.

Shannon Tessellaion for math.

Hi bloggers today I will show you what is not a tessellation and what is a tessellation.

What is the correct tessellation? A correct tessellation is making something out of the same shape like a square and also other kinds of shape.

What is the wrong tessellation? A wrong tessellation is when you use different shapes to make something like that man with butterfly wings attached to its back.

That’s all bloggers hope you have a great day.

Vertual Reality session

We have been learning about Blake’s VR sessions to see if the ocean looks clean or not clean.

This is my mahi called Virtual Reality session.

I learnt how to be a kaitiaki of the moana by picking up rubbish around the beaches and river ways because the sealife eat it and also it makes the oceans and rivers unhealthy. When I had the VR headsets on it made me feel like I was actually in the place. It felt really real.

Something I found quite challenging was trying not to hit people though the session.

Next time I might try to find the crab under the tyre that everybody was talking about.

My tips about this is to try not to get dizzy and have fun.

Making Ika Mata

We have been learning about the islands of the South Pacific. We learnt that a special dish in the islands is Ika Mata.

How to make Ika mata that is just like raw fish with coconut cream.

This  is Ika mata that I’m going to  be posting.

I created this Ika Mata by using coconut-cream, capsicum, green onion, tomato, cucumber and red onion.

I am proud of my work about Ika mata that my  class done  and it was really nice when we got to eat it.

Something that I found out quite challenging for me is when I cut the tomato it was really difficult to cut the tomato.

Next time I might try not to make the tomato flat as a pancake like I did when we were doing  the Ika mata.

My tips  about this work is make sure you have all the right ingredients.

St John🚑

Yesterday (29th Nov) Sophie from St John’s came to room 2 to teach us about First aid. She started off by telling us about the emergency services and what they are needed for. Next she taught us about what to do if someone passes out, the Drs AB.

Danger – Look for danger around the person to see if it’s safe to go over to them.                                                                                        Response – Knocking on their collarbone and saying their name.                                                                                                                        Send for help – Call the emergency services and ask for the ambulance. Tell them your name and where you are. If you don’t know, you can describe the area. Don’t hang up until they tell you.                                                                                                                          Airways – Hold their forehead and pull on their chin gently and have a look in their mouth. If there is anything in there that doesn’t belong, take it out.                                                                                                                                                                                                  Breathing – Put your face close to their nose and mouth and look at their stomach. See if their stomach is moving up and down and feel the air coming from their nose and mouth.

If they were breathing, we would roll them onto their side in case they throw up so they don’t choke on the vomit. Then we got into buddies and one of us pretended to be unconscious while the other had to do the Drs AB.

Lastly, we learnt about injuries and treatment that can be done at home. We talked about extreme bleeding, burns, cejers, strokes, Broken bones, and Anaphylaxis. We learnt how to wrap up a wound with extreme bleeding and to raise it. With burns, we have to run it under cold running water for 20 minutes until the burn is cooled down. When someone is having a cejer, let them have it but make sure there is nothing there for them to hit their head on and call the ambulance. With broken bones, we learnt to stop, rest, ice, call 111, and elevate. When someone is having an Anaphylaxis reaction, call 111 and get their epipen. Usually, they know how to inject themselves but sometimes they are so swollen that they need help. We learnt a rhyme to help us, Blue to the sky, orange to the thigh. If someone is having a stroke, We learnt the FAST methade. Face drooping on one side, Arm is drooping, Speech mumbled or lost, Take action and call 111.

I really enjoyed learning these methods to possibly save someone’s life. Have you learnt about these things?
