Interscool Athletics

This week HPE some people from LS1 went to interschool at pakuranga athletics club

First people got here before 8:30 because that si the time that we go & at 8:15 we get change into our uniform when we do sports & we go somewhere else we started getting change & started hanging out in the hall for a little bit & then we started walking down to catch the bus to pakuranga athletics club.

Next we got off the bus & then we started walking to our hill we hang out when we finish our event we were doing we got there & Miss Erasmus told us we can eat a little bit of food but i went to dicus & it was really fun after dicus i had to go straight to long jump & afters that i get to have a rest & then i had to go to shotput.

Laslty the only event i had to go to was sprinting & then i went i verse against other school & i won i was in the finals & then i came third plast but it dosen’t matter if you don’t win you just have fun & then that was it & then we left to catch our bus back to school & then we had lunch in the hall & then we can go back to class if we want to but we only have 30 minutes & then the bell rang & then we left.

I enjoy going to interschool with some of my friends in my class i had really really really fun

I need work on cheering for people when they are doing a event have great sportsmanship

HPE (Dog Tail)

This week in HPE we played lots of new games but I will be telling you about my favourite one Dog Tail.

The way to play this game is to put a coloured t – shirt or a bib (sports kind) in your pocket or in your pants, I like to put it in my pants because it means it is harder to pull out.

Second the aim of the game is to pull out the tail from the other players pocket or pants / shorts and to be the last one standing.

Next once you get how to play the game you can change how to pay it, for example you could play the one with most plucked out tails win or play the game with teams when you play with teams there can be more then one winner.

The reason this game is so fun is because it is so similar to strip (rugby) and because I just love to play strip.

I enjoyed this game because I got to play a game that is almost strip

I need to work on twisting and turning my body so they can’t steal the tail.

I improved on team work and playing as a team.

Fake news picture

Today we did another Fake news report, but instead we made a fake picture. I learnt that it is quite easy to remove the background from the picture. I can now create diffrent pictures into one picture easily. I really enjoyed finding the pictures to remove the background. I alos learnt it is not real if it is .co.com Here is my fake news picture.

First Aid 2023!

First Aid Blog Post

On the 29/11/23 our class had a paramedic from St John come in to tell us how to help someone if they are unconscious. Sophie was the paramedic who had come in to tell us about all this life saving stuff. The first thing she asked was whether we know when an emergency is or it is just a trip to the hospital in the car. A broken arm is not always an injury that you need to call an ambulance for, a broken leg on the other hand, you do need to call an ambulance because you can not move to a car without moving your broken leg which could do further damage. 

 

Sophie told us about D R S A B which stands for danger, response, send for help, airways and breathing. Then Sophie showed us what each of the things mean. Danger means: look around you and the injured watch out for stuff like knives, hot stuff and other dangerous things. Response means check for responses to see a response you must tap hard on the unconscious person’s collar bone and yell their name out. Send for help means if the person does not respond you call the ambulance start away and say what happened, how it happened, where the accident happened and don’t hang up until the services tell you to. My favourite part was at the end when I won an oscar for the best unconscious person.

Virtual Reality Session

We have been learning about Te Moana and a part of that we got to have a session on the VR (Virtual Reality headsets).

This is my virtual reality blog post about my experience on the VR headsets and Te Moana learning.

I learned what different fish look like and how they breath under water. I also learnt that if  there is a bunch of trash in the ocean then that it’s polluted and sealife will not survive. If the ocean area is clean then that means that sealife will be healthy and stay alive a lot longer. Having the VR headsets on made me feel like I was in the water and that I could touch the fish.

I am really happy that I went to that session because it was really cool to see all the fishes and shark’s and stingrays.

Next time I might try asking more questions.

My tipsabout virtual reality is take off the headset if you are feeling nauseous.

Shotput And High Jump

This week for HPE LS1 did shotput and high jump.

First we did high jump, we were tought 2 different landings. Scissor, and just landing on our bottom. I perfer just landing on the bottom, its funner and more comforble than just puting a hard object on a soft surface.

The next day LS1 group A did shotput, we revised this since we did this back in week 5 – 6. This time I threw futher than normal.

Lastly I bloged.

I enjoyed doing high jump the most since it is really fun to land.

I need to improve on really nothing since I have improved on shotput.

Today after swimming Ruru and Kereru had to do the task board on the Ruru or Kereru sight I’m doing the math task we had to explain what tessellation 1 wrong tessellation and 1 correct tessellation. The tessellations are down below the arrow will lead you into it a you might be wondering what is, a tessellation is using multiple shapes and a wrong tessellation is using 1 shape you understand when you see it.

Adam’s Week 8 Reading Create Task

Hi bloggers for this week’s reading create task we had a choice to create our own school so i gave it a go & called it Adam’s School Of Joy.

I’ve made six slideshows for the reading create task and i will tell you step by step.

Slide 1: nothing much It’s just the title if I built a school

Slide 2: for year 4 & 5 they had to watch full videos about schools from different countries. You can visit your intermediate website for next year.

Slide 3: for your school design you go to Google drawing and design what your school looks like. You can design it however you want.

Slide 4: for your school you have to tell how many students will be in each classroom, what subjects will be taught, what year level are you going to have in your school, & insert images of your furniture inside the classroom.

Slide 5: for the next slide you have to think of 10 rules for your school it can be anything you want cuz it’s your school.

Slide 6: now it’s time for the final slide and the most exciting part You get to design your uniform for your school and this can be whatever design you want.

Now it’s time for me to show you my incredebile slideshow:

in my opinion it’s not the best but I will give it a 9.5 out of 10 because the uniforms kind of look odd and I didn’t even try my best for the uniform.
