The discovery of lemuria
It was 6:00 in the morning when the phone rang. I picked it up and said hello “Hello there can I help you, yes well maybe, would it be possible for you to find and explore the lost city of Lemuria. Yes, if you give me the coordinates. Sending them through now. Barbados, I’ll be there in about three to four days. Thank you so much” So viewers, I guess we are going to Barbados, I’ve always wanted to go there.
I boarded my flight from London to Barbados. The airport in London was really nice. I had never been there before. Once I got on my flight, I was served a drink and a packet of potato chips. The flight attendants were really nice. It was a 9 hour flight so about three hours into the flight I had a nap. When I woke up, I looked out of my window and saw the Atlantic ocean and in the distance there were a few islands so I knew that we would be landing soon. About ten minutes later, we landed in Barbados international airport.
After security I went to my hotel and got ready for the next day. In my suitcase I had a body camera that I would strap to my chest, a torch, scuba gear for when I dive into Lemuria and some extra clothes. That night I couldn’t sleep at all. The hotel was eerie and quiet. There was a silent wind and a creepy whine. I thought that I’d better look around my room. I had a really nice room. It was right by the beach and there was a flying trapeze on the grass in front.
The next day was a sunny day. I managed to convince the hotel workers to give me a free buffet so that was great. I made my way to the pier. I looked at the company name that I had written down. Their company name was , discoveryplus. There were a few boats in the same area with that name on the side. Only one of them was manned so I asked them if they were the ones that called me. They said they didn’t know and I should ask their boss.
I asked where I would find their boss and they said come aboard so I listened to them and went on their ship. The boss was inside the room at the front of the boat. He said that he called me and we would start the exploration today. I was thrilled. When I had my scuba gear on, I told the captain “I’m ready to go”. The boat started sailing out into the harbour. The crew were really nice to me. They gave me a coke and a sandwich.
We arrived at the dive site and me and two of the crew members dived into the deepest depths. We had 8 hours of oxygen left in our tanks so if we don’t find Lemuria then, well we might not be finding too many more things. Even though it wasn’t Lemuria, the coral reef was absolutely beautiful. The tropical fish were gorgeous, The reef was like an underwater rainbow but I still need to stay focused on finding Lemuria.
We were about ten minutes into our dive when I spotted an opening with a strange light coming out of it. I told the others but They said to me it’s probably nothing so we kept on swimming. It was when the water temperature rose that I realized that there were some thermal vents down here. The water was noticeably hotter than at the start of our dive. In our radio headsets someone let out a massive gasp. All of us asked if he was okay and his reply was “Am I okay, I’m more than okay I just saw something that looked like a Lemurian symbol” All of us asked him where he was and he was sucked into one of the thermal vents and found the symbol.
Only one of us could read Lemurian and his name was Apollo. Apollo is an incredibly talented man, he has won several competitions in swimming and language speaking.
Anyways, Apollo told us that the symbol meant, you will find the Lost city in the hole of the everlasting gloom. I thought that maybe that was referring to the hole I saw earlier. I told the others that I was going to check the hole out and I would be with them soon. I was really annoyed at the group for saying I shouldn’t check it out, But that was in the past so I just moved on.
I looked at my air gauge and it said that I still had 6:3000 left of air. When I arrived at the hole I saw something crazy. There were dolphins taking dead fish into the hole and the dolphins surprisingly looked sad. Before I entered the hole Apollo said something else through the intercoms, “I’ve found another symbol and it means in Lemuria you will find the scepter of Queen doreus”. I said that queen doreus must be the leader of the lost city.
I entered the hole and how no one had found this before amazed me because it was right in the open. What I saw inside was absolutely astonishing. I discovered Lemuria. It was a beautiful city. While I was looking at Lemuria, a dolphin bumped into me and it just kept on going like it was possessed so that was strange, anyways as I was saying Lemuria was a picture perfect city. There was a big hall that could have been the royal hall and there were a few small buildings that were probably houses. This was amazing. I swam further down and again, a dolphin came straight into my back. I thought that this time it wasn’t a coincidence so I followed the dolphins and Strangely There was a maze and all of the dolphins were entering the maze. It turned out to be a hallway not a maze and at the end of the hallway there was a minotaur!!! If you don’t know what a minotaur is, it’s a mythical creature with the torso of a human, the tail of a dolphin and the head of a bull. It was sleeping at the time but I figured out why the dolphins were carrying dead fish. They were getting food for the minotaur.
I didn’t feel safe inside so I got out as quickly as I could. I was able to get a photo of the minotaur so I could show the others. When I got out I looked at some of the buildings and inside there was still furniture and metal cutlery. I wondered how this was all preserved so well so I took a sample of the algae on the walls and it turned out to be coralline algae. For those that don’t know what coralline algae is, it’s basically a type of algae that hardens stone or turns living organisms into a thick stone layer.
The other divers found the hole and they came inside and I told them about the minotaur and warned them not to touch the buildings with their bare skin otherwise they will start turning to stone.
Apollo told us that we should take a photo of Lemuria and get out because we only had half an hour left of air. I took a photo and told the others that I was ready to go. We got out and boarded the boat. We showed the boss and he was super happy. He gave us all fifty thousand dollars and he gave me the keys to one of his boats.
