A man living in Palmerston North took a venomous sea snake from the sea and took it home in April 2021. The man told a Doc man and the Doc man told him to return it to the sea, but instead of doing that the man took the sea snake home in a box and the snake died on the ride home. He also posted that he did this on tiktok. He got fined for $500 and has to do 50 hours of community service. I think that it was a stupid to take the snake out of the water in the first place but then to post that on social media is exceptionally stupid.
