Notan stencilling – Art project one

In week 2 of term 3 we did a little project in art called Notan stencilling.

Miss Keene had taught us Notan stencilling in week 2 of term 3.

I think the reason why she made us start this project was because she wanted to show us how to divide the negative and positive or in other words, the black and white paper/colour. I took a very long time to cut this out, as you can see. Though, i still wish i could’ve added more to make my stencil less boring.

The bird photo is one of the examples we were shown about Notan stencilling. I enjoyed cutting the stencil out but it was also the biggest part i had struggled with, besides gluing. I really hope that we’re able to do it again, because i would’ve added more detailed stencils, to make it look more interesting, and flattering to look at.
