For the last 3 weeks Talei ‘s literacy group has been working on persuasive writing. We had to choose a topic and a opinion. I choose is Summer better then winter, my opinion is yes. We spent some time working on our introduction and after that we wrote a paragraph a day. We spent a lot of time editing and changing our pieces. Finally we put in a rhetorical question and a simile into our writing. A rhetorical question is a question you don’t want someone to answer and a simile is comparing it to something else for example, the sea roared like a lion.

There are many great things about all the seasons, but these are just the three best reasons why Summer is better than winter. You can go swimming in lakes, rivers and the ocean, get more ice cream and go swimming in outdoor pools. So keep reading to find out more.
Summer is better than winter because you can hang out at the beach and cool off in the sea. Yes, you can go to the beach in winter but the water is colder so you can’t stay in as long and there are no lifeguards at the beach in Winter. Do you want to drown out in the middle of the ocean? Also, you can relax in the nice warm sand and then go to the sea when it gets too hot in Summer.
Another good reason Summer is better than winter is that on a hot summer day, you can get more ice cream. You can still get ice cream in Winter but it’s not as nice as summer because in winter it makes you too cold but in summer it cools you down just enough. Do you want to be even more cold after an ice-cream?
The last reason Summer is better than Winter is that more outdoor pools are open in summer. Yes, you can still go swimming in winter but you can’t go to outdoor pools in winter. Outdoor pools are one of the best parts of summer as they don’t have as much chlorine and you get more fresh air while swimming. Do you want to spend all your time in gross extra chlorination?
Summer is better than winter because you can hang out at the beach with friends, you can get more ice cream and you can go to more outdoor pools. Just remember summer is way way way better than winter!
