For this activity we needed to create our own unusual predator using the anteater but adding our own features (4 Features), I decided to create me unusual predator adding spikes to it’s back, horns on its mouth, a crocodile tail, and two tongues.
Resons Why I picked these 4 features:
4 Features:
- Spikes, having spikes on its back can prevent predators like jaguars usually jump on an anteater’s back. Spikes would make it impossible to bite or grab them without getting hurt.
- Horns would make the anteater’s long face much stronger and more useful. They would act like a bumper to protect its nose from bites and work like a tool to pry open logs so its claws don’t get worn out. The horns would also look very scary, like a rhino’s, which would keep predators away without even needing to fight.
- Crocodile tail, A crocodile’s tail is basically one giant, heavy muscle. It is so strong that just one swing (a “tail lash”) can break a predator’s bones or knock them right off their feet. If an anteater had this, it could protect itself from both the front and the back.
- If an anteater had two tongues, it would essentially become a “super-eater,” allowing it to catch twice as many insects in half the time. This is a huge advantage because anteaters need to eat about 30,000 bugs every day but have to leave nests quickly before the colony’s soldiers start biting them. With two tongues, one could reach deep into tunnels to find the queen while the other sweeps up workers on the surface, or they could take turns so the muscles wouldn’t get tired from flicking so fast.
