Navigation of the Stars

This week we learned about Kupe and how his Dad actually found New Zealand first but wanted to show it to the People in Hawaiki. I enjoyed that the most then all the other things we learned. One thing about this that I learned was that Abel Tasman almost found New Zealand before Captain Cook, So We would’ve been French then Pakeha, Personally I would rather be French then English even though I would be English either way. But now I’m going to tell how Kupes’ Dad found New Zealand. One day Kupes dad wanted to find something New, So he left Hawaiki and when on a boat to Rarotonga, following specific stars, But he already knew Rarotonga was there so he sailed further, following the stars until he got to Nuia, he also already knew that was there then he sailed further until he saw the tip of New Zealand Then he went back to Hawaiki to show his people.
