Fire & Flow!

Kia Ora

The Fire –

¨Whoosh¨ went up the flames as they were swooping through the air and gliding above the ground. A fire performance was happening and it looked incredible as the fire went left and right, up and down! The fire was being controlled by a man with a long beard called Jordan, the other man who was also controlling the fire was called Tom. Jordan and Tom were getting an audience as lots of people cheered ¨do the Griddy¨! So next thing you know Jordan was running around doing the Griddy with fire swinging to his right.

Learning How To Control Fire –

On Monday and Tuesday afternoon after the

lunchtime fire performances Room 2 had Fire & Flow Lessons! At the Fire & Flow lessons

we learnt to do basic moves like how to turn the stick and throw it up in the air!

How to make a Fire & Flow stick –

What you will need is – Rubber from a old

tyre – Broomstick – Tape (your colour)- Bike Grip – The inner tube from a old tyre –

How to make a Fire & Flow stick –

First you need to cut the inner tube in half so it is as close to half as you can

Then using the tape you stick the rubber to both the ends so it weighs the same amount. Then you get the grip and stick it in the middle of the stick.

What is the Griddy? –

The Griddy is a dance that is popular in schools for boys and girls.

Conclusion –

I liked learning about Fire & Flow

because it was fun learning how to sway the sticks and chuck them in the air!

Have you ever done Fire & Flow?
