Hello!
In English today, we needed to write what we thought about Jojo Rabbit’s film trailer.
Here’s what I thought:
What are your overall thoughts and impressions of the trailer for JoJo Rabbit?
I think the trailer made the film seem very intriguing due to the action and the music/scenes chosen.
What are your thoughts on the use of satire and humour in the trailer for Jojo Rabbit?
The use of satire in the film helps make it feel less serious and more light-hearted, while also sharing an signifcant part of history. Which can be noticed in the parts of the trailer where the kids in the camp seem to feel excited about being involved in dangerous acts. Another example that can be considered satire is the role of Hitler and how the character seems to be the complete opposite of what happened in war/reality. Ultimately, I think it’s an important aspect that shapes the film.
How do you think Jojo Rabbit might be relevant to your own life, the community, and wider society today?
This is relevant towards today’s society because it shows a part of history that impacts reality. The major event of world war 2 and what occurred at the time can still be relevant to many communities due to the impact it had on religious groups and people (specifically Jewish). In Jojo Rabbit, slight satire makes the film more educational/enjoyable for people who don’t enjoy learning about war.
