New Zealand And Samoan History

In 1918 Influenza arrived in New Zealand, A ship from New Zealand arrived in Sāmoa with the influenza bug aboard. Colonel Logan (NZ) then refused to quarantine the ship and stop others getting sick. 8,500 Sāmoans died from the deadly disease. Sāmoa then had a peaceful protest for independence. On Black Saturday 1929, while protesting New Zealand police killed 11 protesters. Finally in 1962 Sāmoans gained independence for their country.
