The Sun & the Carbon Snake Experiment

The Sun & the Carbon Snake Experiment

We learned about the Sun and how it releases heat.

First, I saw black charcoal things start to form on the icing sugar and flames, then near the end it turned into black, greyish molten coal. It looked like an overcooked marshmallow!

I noticed flames starting to build up from the meth spray. I noticed the icing sugar bubbling and expanding rapidly. I also noticed smoke/gas around the experiment.

The most interesting thing was that you needed to put way more meth then you are supposed to, to make bigger flames.

When the sugar was heated it releases gas. Gas formed and pushed the carbon upward. The experiment released light and energy.

A model helps scientists understand and learn about things we can’t visit.

This helps us understand lots about the Sun and educate kids around the world.

One way this experiment is the same as the Sun is the light and energy are slightly similar.

One way this experiment is different from the Sun is The sun uses fusion, instead of fire.
